We Should Not Refuse The Lord!

‘We Should Not Refuse The Lord.’
Isaiah 7:10-13.
a)      Isaiah 7:10. The Lord sent a Message to King Ahaz, (This was obviously through Isaiah)
b)      Isaiah 7:11. Ahaz was to ask a sign of confirmation from the Lord his God. He was to make this request as difficult as he wanted, as high as Heaven or as deep as the place of the dead.
c)      Isaiah 7:12. King Ahaz refused to do it and said that he would not test the Lord.
d)      Isaiah 7:13. Isaiah 7:13. Isaiah was very frank in his reply to Ahaz. Isaiah said three very pertinent things:-
1-      Listen well, you royal family of David.
2-      Isn’t it enough to exhaust human patience?
3-      Must you exhaust the patience of my God as well?
(This QT reminds me that I Should Not Refuse The Lord)

‘A Journey Of Faith.’
Acts 20:22.
a)      Apostle Paul was going to Jerusalem.
b)      He was ‘bound in the Spirit’. (It means that he had a strong inner compulsion to go from the Holy Spirit)
c)      Paul did not know what would befall him there.

The place of the dead is often referred to as the deep. The deep was a word I heard many times in my childhood and it meant the bottom of the sea. There was a time when Jesus urged the Disciples to launch out into the deep. Another way to look at the word ‘deep’ is, with the hymn writer to consider the Love of Christ: ‘Oh the deep deep Love of Jesus’.

The Christian Life!
