‘Apostle Paul Knew What To Do.’
Acts 18:18-23.
a)
Acts 18:18. Paul knew when it was time to
leave Corinth for Syria and he knew who to take with him – Priscilla and
Aquila.
b)
Acts
18:18. Paul knew that he needed to make a vow and he had his head shaved in
Cenchrea.
c)
Acts 18:19. Upon arrival in Ephesus
Paul left Priscilla and Aquila and he went off to the Synagogue to reason with
the Jews.
d)
Acts 18:20. Paul did not agree to stay longer
with the Jews in Ephesus.
e)
Acts 18:21. Paul told these Jews that he would
come back there if it was God’s Will for him to do so. He then set sail from
Ephesus.
f)
Acts 18:22. Paul landed next in Caesarea and
he went up and greeted the Church there. Then he went down to Antioch.
g)
Acts 18:23. Paul spent some time in Antioch
and then went off to Galatia and Phrygia. As he passed through he strengthened
all the Disciples there.
(This QT teaches me that Apostle
Paul Knew What To Do)
‘Apollos.’
Acts 18:24-28.
a)
Acts 18:24. Apollos was Jewish and he came
from Alexandria. He was eloquent and mighty in the Scriptures. He came to
Ephesus.
b)
Acts 18:25. Apollos was a fervent True
Believer who was instructed in the Way of the Lord. He was Teaching and
Preaching accurately the things concerning Jesus. He was only acquainted with
the Baptism of John the Baptist.
c)
Acts 18:26. Apollos began to speak out boldly
in the synagogue. Priscilla and Aquila heard him and took him to one side to
explain to him the Way of the Lord more accurately.
d)
Acts 18:27. Apollos went to Achaia. The
Ephesus Church encouraged him to go and he was a great encouragement to the new
Believers.
e)
Acts 18:28. Apollos:-
1-
Powerfully refuted the Jews in public.
2-
Demonstrated by the Scriptures.
3-
That Jesus was the Christ.
(Through this Second one I learn much about Apollos)
Chris.
Apollos was a humble and teachable man even when serving the
Lord. He wanted to learn, he wanted to be correct. When he was teaching
something that was not correct Aquila and Priscilla took him to one side and
explained the correct way. The Church needs humble servants like Apollos and Bible/Church
loving leaders like Aquila and Priscilla.
