‘Another Priest Arose.’
Hebrews 7:15-17,
a) Hebrews 7:15. Another
Priest arose, resembling Melchizedek.
b) Hebrews 7:16. This Priest
did not come on the basis of a legal requirement concerning bodily descent.
c) Hebrews 7:16. This Priest
came by the power of an indestructible life.
d) Hebrews 7:17. It is
witnessed of Christ that He is a Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

abomination to the Lord.

Christ remains a Priest forever and He is the One Who teaches us
and models for us what priesthood is all about. The function of priesthood in
the Church today is basically very simple. A priest comes to God on behalf of
the people and the priest also comes to the people on behalf of God.
