Melchizedek King Of Salem!



‘Melchizedek King Of Salem.’
Hebrews 7:1-4.
a)     Hebrews 7:1. Melchizedek was a Priest of the Most High God.
b)    Hebrews 7:1. Melchizedek met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings.
c)     Hebrews 7:1. Melchizedek Blessed Abraham.
d)    Hebrews 7:2. Abraham gave a tenth part of everything to Melchizedek.
e)     Hebrews 7:2. The name Melchizedek means King of Righteousness and King of Peace.
f)     Hebrews 7:3. There is no record of Melchizedek’s genealogy at all.
g)     Hebrews 7:3. There is no record of the beginning or end of Melchizedek’s life.
h)    Hebrews 7:3. Melchizedek resembles the Son of God and continues as a Priest forever.
i)      Hebrews 7:4. We are to consider how great Melchizedek was, Abraham gave him a tenth of everything.

a)     Malachi 1:3; Romans 9:13. He displeased God.
b)    Genesis 25:27. He was a skilful hunter and a man of the field.
c)     Genesis 25:34. He despised his birth right.
d)    Genesis 27:41. He hated his brother because his brother stole his birth right.
e)     Jeremiah 49:10. His generations were stripped bare by God.
f)     Obadiah 1:18. His generations were left with no survivors.

Melchizedek was a Priest of the Most High God. We do not read much about him in the Bible, yet he was a very significant person. From this we can learn that being publicly significant is not really very important. We should rather aim to please God. When our lives are pleasing to Him we can have Peace and a clear conscience.
