‘Pasture.’
a)
Isaiah 5:17. Will be given by the Lord to the
lambs and goats in the ruins of the city.
b)
Genesis 13:6. There always needs to be enough
for the animals to feed on.
c)
Genesis 29:7; Jeremiah 33:12. Animals have to
be taken to it.
d)
Genesis 47:4. Famine destroys it.
e)
Numbers 22:4. Bulls soon consume it.
f)
Numbers 35:2-3; Joshua 21:3 & 8. The
priests needed to be given pasture for their animals.
g)
1 Chronicles 4:40. When there is plenty of
fertile pasture it is often in open countryside that is quiet and peaceful.
h)
Psalm 65:12; Isaiah 32:20. When they are
filled with flocks they are also filled with Joy.
i)
Jeremiah 9:10. When they are dry it is a sad
and empty time.
j)
Jeremiah 23:10. Because of the Lord’s curse
pastures become dry.

There always needs to be enough pasture for the animals to feed
on. No farmer is going to bother to take his animals to a field where there is
no pasture - that would be a fruitless exercise. Just as animals need pasture, so do True
Believers. We need to be well fed with the Word of God in the Church and in our
private reading. We have to graze well in the pasture, if not, our spiritual
life goes down.
