‘Here I Am.’
Isaiah 6:1-8.
a) Isaiah 6:1. This happened to Isaiah in the
year that King Uzziah died. It was the sad death of a king who turned away from
God.
b) Isaiah 6:1. Isaiah had a vision:-
1- Of
the Lord sitting on a throne.
2- The
Lord was high and lofty.
3- The
hem of the Lord’s robe filled the Temple.
c) Isaiah 6:2. Six winged seraphs were in
attendance above the Lord. With two wings they:-
1- Covered
their face.
2- Covered
their feet.
3- Flew.
d) Isaiah 6:3. One seraph called to another and
exclaimed: ‘Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts; the whole Earth is full of
His Glory.’
e) Isaiah 6:4. The foundations of the doorways
shook at the sound of their voices of those who called and the Temple was
filled with smoke.
f) Isaiah 6:5. This awesome sight obviously
deeply moved Isaiah. He said:-
1- Woe
is me.
2- I
am lost.
3- I
am a man of unclean lips.
4- Mine
eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts.
g) Isaiah 6:6. One of the seraph flew to Isaiah
having a live coal that was from the altar with a pair of tongs.
h) Isaiah 6:7. The seraph touched Isaiah’s mouth
with that live coal.
i) Isaiah 6:7. The seraph said that now the live
coal had touched Isaiah’s lips his guilt had departed and his sin was blotted
out.
j) Isaiah 6:8. It was then that Isaiah was able
to hear the Voice of the Lord. The Lord asked Isaiah whom He should send and
who would go for us. (Father, Son and Holy Spirit)
k) Isaiah 6:8. Isaiah responded: ‘Here am I, send
me.’
(This QT teaches me so much from the
call of Isaiah: Here I Am)
‘Eagerness Is The Key.’
2 Corinthians 8:12.
a) Apostle Paul teaches that eagerness and
nothing else is the key principle of giving financially to God’s Work.
b) The gift is acceptable according to what one
has.
c) The gift is not acceptable according to what
one does not have.
(Through this Second one I understand that Eagerness Is The Key:
giving financially to God’s Work should never be a burden)
Chris.
The
Lord waited to ask Isaiah about his calling and ministry. Even though this
calling was obviously in the Plan and Will of God, God waited. The reason for
the wait was that Isaiah first needed to be cleansed and then he could hear what
God was saying to him.
