The High Priest!



‘The High Priest.’
Hebrews 5:1-4.
a)    Hebrew 5:1. Every High Priest is appointed to help other people.
b)    Hebrews 5:1. He offers gifts and sacrifices to God because of their sins.
c)    Hebrews 5:2. A High Priest has weaknesses of his own.
d)    Hebrews 5:2. He feels sorry and is able to deal gently with people who are:-
1-   Foolish.
2-   Sinful.
3-   Ignorant.
4-   Wayward.
e)    Hebrews 5:3. The High Priest must offer sacrifices for his own sins and the sins of other people.
f)     Hebrews 5:4. No one can have the honour of being a High Priest simply by wanting to be one. The High Priest has to be called by God.

‘In Christ’s Image.’
Colossians 3:10.
a)    If we are True Believers, in Christ we are New Persons.
b)    We have clothed ourselves with the New Self.
c)    We are becoming more and more like our Creator.
d)    We are being renewed in knowledge and are coming to understand our Creator better.
(This Second one helps me to understand that I am being formed In Christ’s Image)

The High Priest needed to help people who were ignorant. He helped them come to God. All over the World, in both wealthy and poor Nations, there are people who are seeking to know God but they are completely ignorant. God wants us to help these people and to bring them closer to Jesus so they can learn to Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
