Chris.
Sometimes God lets us feel helpless in order that we might
realise our need of Him. There are seasons in all of our lives when life
becomes a struggle, most of us do not want other people to know about our
struggles, we do not want to bother them. It is in those times of helplessness
that we first need to turn to God, not other people first but God first. Then
we can begin to find help. When we only turn to other people we tend to become
dependent upon them and that is not beneficial for any of us.
