Chris.
Jesus saw the multitudes and crowds and He wanted to be away from them. A little later we read that Jesus saw multitudes and crowds and had compassion on them. These are very different statements. Before He began His Ministry to the multitudes Jesus wanted to have His Disciples ready. They needed to be ready to assist Him in the Ministry, and ready to start the work of the Early Church after His Ascension. Matthew Chapters 5 to 7 are great Disciple Training Chapters.
