The Lord had commanded people to do this.

The Destruction of Babylon was called for by the Lord. This fact
is clearly seen and stated in God’s Word. This is Old Testament Bible History.
There are times when True Believers make the mistake of going back into Old
Testament times and start saying that modern wars are also called for by the
Lord. These people are usually justifying their own anger or hatred by saying
such things.
