‘All That Could Hear With Understanding.
Nehemiah 8:2-4.
a) Nehemiah 8:2. Ezra brought the Law of God
before the entire Assembly of God’s People.
b) Nehemiah 8:2. All the Assembly of God’s People
came together, men, women and all people who could understand.
c) Nehemiah 8:2. This was on the first day of the
seventh month.
d) Nehemiah 8:3. Ezra publicly read the Law of
God before the people from the early morning until mid-day.
e) Nehemiah 8:3. Ezra read the Law of God before
the men, the women and all others who could understand.

Nehemiah 8:3. The ears of
God’s People were attentive to what they heard.
g) Nehemiah 8:4. Ezra stood on a platform
especially made for him and his priestly ministry team stood with him.

‘Stephen’s Reply To The High Priest.’
Acts 7:2-4.
a) Acts 7:2. Stephen wanted the people to listen
to what he had to say.
b) Acts 7:2. Stephen talked about the God of
Glory appearing to Abraham in Mesopotamia before he went to Haran.
c) Acts 7:3. God’s Word to Abraham was
exceptionally clear:-
1- Leave your country.
2- Leave your relatives.
3- Go to the land that I will
show you.
d) Acts 7:4. Abraham did it – he obeyed God and
he settled in Haran.
e) Acts 7:4. Abraham’s father died in Haran.

Acts 7:4. God then had
Abraham move on again to the place where he met God again.

Leave your country! These
were simple instructions from the Lord God given to Abraham. He was a family
man, he was a wealthy man and he was a man with responsibilities. We see,
however, that Abraham was willing to take the steps of Faith that were
necessary to do the Will of God. I am so challenged by this.
