‘All
Things Are Possible With God.’
Mark
10:17-28.
a) Mark 10:17. This did not happen in a
counselling session or even at a convenient time. Jesus was preparing to leave.
b) Mark 10:17. A young man came up and knelt
before Jesus asking Him, the Good Teacher, what he must do to inherit Eternal
Life.
c) Mark 10:18. Jesus reminded him that only God
is good.
d) Mark 10:19. Jesus listed some of the
Commandments to the young man:-
1- Do not murder.
2- Do not commit adultery.
3- Do not steal.
4- Do not bear false witness.
5- Do not defraud.
6- Honour your father and mother.
e) Mark 10:20. The young man said to Jesus that
he had obeyed these things since he was a boy.(He probably was telling the Truth)
f) Mark 10:21. Jesus looked at the young man and
loved him.
g) Mark 10:21. Jesus told him that he lacked one
thing. He was to sell all that he had and then give to the poor people. Then he
would have treasure in Heaven.
h) Mark 10:21. Then he could follow Jesus.
i) Mark 10:22. The young man was disheartened by
the saying of Jesus and went away sorrowful because he had great possessions.
j) Mark 10:23. Jesus looked around at His
Disciples and He said to them that it was difficult for those people who had
wealth to enter the Kingdom of God. (Notice that He said ‘difficult’ and not ‘impossible’)
k) Mark 10:24. The Disciples were amazed at these
Words of Jesus and so He repeated the same words.
l) Mark 10:25. Jesus illustrated what He meant by
the difficulty for rich people to enter the Kingdom of God. He used the example
of the camel and the eye of the needle Gate of the City.
m) Mark 10:26. The Disciples were astonished and
asked Him who could be saved?
n) Mark 10:27. Jesus looked at His Disciples and
said that with man it was impossible but not with God. All things are possible
with God.
o) Mark 10:28. Peter spoke up and he wanted to
remind Jesus that he and the other Disciples had given up everything
immediately to follow Him.
(This
QT reminds me that All Things Are Possible With God)
‘Our
Heavenly Father’s Consistent Love.’
James
1:17.
a) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from
Above.
b) It comes down from the Father of Lights.
c) With Him there is no variation or shadow due
to change.
(This Second one teaches
me My Heavenly Father’s Consistent Love)
Chris.
Jesus never needs
reminding. God is not forgetful. Some people, when they pray keep on reminding
God instead of Trusting Him. Trusting God with our Prayers means Praying and
then leaving it with Him. The more emotive the Prayer request is and closer to
our heart, we are really tempted to keep on reminding God and have our struggle
and loss of Joy.
