‘A Surprise From Jesus.’
John 4:9.
a) The woman that Jesus met at the well was a
Samaritan and Samaritans and Jews had no dealings with each other, the Jews
looked down on Samaritans.
b) The woman could not understand how Jesus could
have asked her for a drink of water.
c) The general attitudes of the Jews towards the
Samaritans in Bible days was:-
1- We are not friends.
2- We do not share things.
3- We have no dealings.
d) Jesus caused surprise for that woman because
He cut across all the boundaries mentioned here.
(This QT shows me A Surprise From Jesus)
‘God’s Way And God’s Plan.’
1 Kings 1:33-37.
a) 1 Kings 1:33. David gave clear instructions to
the men that he trusted.
b) 1 Kings 1:33. They were to:-
1- Take David’s servants with
them.
2- Put Solomon on David’s mule.
3- Go to the spring called Gihon.
(Gihon means “bursting forth”) That is what is going to happen too. Solomon was
going to burst forth as the new king.
c) 1 Kings 1:34. Zadok the Priest and Nathan the
Prophet Had to:-
1- Pour olive oil on Solomon.
2- Make him king over Israel.
3- Blow the trumpet.
4- Lead the people to exclaim with
a shout: “Long Live King Solomon.”
d) 1 Kings 1:35. Then Solomon was brought back to
King David and sat on David’s Throne. King David had chosen Solomon to be the
next king.
e) 1 Kings 1:36. Benaiah answered King David with
“Amen”. Benaiah said that this enthroning of Solomon was what God had ordained.
f) 1 Kings 1:37. Benaiah then Blessed Solomon
with these words: “Just as the Lord was always with King David may He also be
with King Solomon. May King Solomon’s throne be greater than that of King
David.”
(This Second one teaches me
that I should always know God’s Way And God’s Plan)
Chris.
Solomon was brought back to
King David and was told to sit on David’s Throne. Here was God’s choice and
David’s choice to be the next King. This should stimulate us to Pray for our
Nations, may godly leadership be more and more manifest in the Nations.
Government systems are not as important as God’s choice.
