‘We Have Not Come To Mount Sinai.’
Hebrews 12:18-21.
a)
Hebrews 12:18. We have not come to a physical
place as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai.
b)
Hebrews 12:18. Mount Sinai was a place of:-
1-
Flaming fire.
2-
Darkness.
3-
Gloom.
4-
Whirlwind.
c)
Hebrews 12:19. The People of Israel at Mount
Sinai heard an awesome trumpet blast and a voice so terrible that they begged
God to stop speaking.
d)
Hebrews 12:20. The People of God staggered
back at God’s Command. Because God said that even if an animal touched Mount
Sinai it must be stoned to death.
e)
Hebrews 12:21. Moses himself was so frightened
at the sight that he said he was terrified and trembling.
(Through this QT I thank God
that I Have Not Come To Mount Sinai)
‘Good Welcome.’
Matthew 10:40-41.
a)
Anyone who welcomes True Disciples of Jesus
also welcomes Jesus.
b)
Anyone who welcomes Jesus also welcomes the
Father who sent Him.
c)
If we welcome a Prophet as one who speaks for
God then we will be given the same reward as a Prophet.
d)
If we welcome righteous people because of
their Righteousness then we will receive the same reward as theirs.
(Because of this Second one I want to give people A Good
Welcome)
Chris.
We have not come to a physical place as the Israelites did at
Mount Sinai. We have now come to the Living God through Jesus Christ. We thank
God for Bible History some of us may especially study and teach Bible History.
It is good to know about Bible History but it is not good for us, or wise, to
dwell in Bible History. The relevance of the Scripture for today is more
important.
