‘Please Do Not Forget The Rock.’
Isaiah 17:9-11.
a) Isaiah 17:9. Israel’s cities will be like a
deserted forest and completely desolate.
b) Isaiah
17:10. Israel had turned from the God Who could Save them.
c) Isaiah
17:10. Israel had forgotten the Rock Who could hide them.
d) Isaiah
17:10-11. Even though Israel planted the finest grapevines and import the most
expensive seedlings they will grow but bear no fruit.
e) Isaiah 17:11. Israel’s only harvest will be a
load of grief and unrelieved pain.

There was nothing wrong with what Israel planted. They planted
the finest grapevines and the most expensive seedlings. The result of this
planting was a fruitless failure. The problem that the Israelites needed to
learn was that there was nothing wrong with the grapevines and seedlings the
problem was in their hearts and lives. They had turned from God and forgotten
the Rock.
