‘Walk And Please God.’
1 Thessalonians 4:1-2.
a) This was a strong Word of Exhortation from
Apostle Paul to the Church of Thessalonica.
b) They were asked in the Lord Jesus’ Name.
c) They were encouraged in the Lord Jesus’ Name.
d) They were to follow what Apostle Paul had told
them about walking and pleasing God.
e) They were already doing this but they needed
to be doing it more.
f) Apostle Paul and his team had already given
the Church of Thessalonica Commands through the Lord Jesus.
(This QT reminds me
clearly to Walk And Please God)
‘Jesus Glorified The
Father Clearly.’
John 17:4.
a) Jesus Glorified the Father.
b) He did this on the Earth. (Visible for all
people to see)
c) Jesus completed the Work.
d) That the Father gave Him to do.
(Through this Second one I see that
Jesus Glorified The Father Clearly and I desire to do the same)
Chris.
The Church in Thessalonica were to
follow what the Apostle Paul told them. There is a pattern in many Churches
today that is far away from the New Testament concept of Church. This pattern
is summed up as: ‘We do what we want to do’. It can be manifested individually,
in a group or even in an entire Church! Church is not a democracy, neither is
it a ‘kingdom’ ruled by a dictator and his team. Church is meant to be a humble
and pure Theocracy, governed by God, through His Word, by His Spirit with
humble servants.
