‘Apostolic Care.’
1 Thessalonians 3:5-6.
a) Because of
his care for the Church in Thessalonica Apostle Paul sent Timothy there.
b) The main
reason for Timothy’s Ministry trip to Thessalonica was to find out about their
Faith and Faithfulness to the Lord.
c) Apostle Paul
was wanted to see if the tempter may have tempted them.
d) If the
Thessalonica Church had been tempted by the tempter in some way then the
Ministry of Apostle Paul and his team there would have been meaningless.
e) Timothy
returned back to Apostle Paul from Thessalonica.
f)
The news was good. The Church in Thessalonica
had:-
1- Faith.
2- Faithfulness.
3- Love.
g) The Church in
Thessalonica also had very good memories of Apostle Paul’s team and wanted to
see them again.
(This QT demonstrates
to me practical Apostolic Care for the Churches)
‘Something Is Going To
Happen.’
Romans 8:22.
a) We know that.
b) The whole
Creation is groaning together.
c) Suffering
labour pains.
d) Up until the
present time.
(Through this Second one I anticipate
that Something Is Going To Happen)
Chris.
Because of his care for the Church in Thessalonica
Apostle Paul sent Timothy there. Apostolic care of and for the Churches is not
just making “heavy” prophetic announcements and so called “prophecies”.
Apostolic care of the Churches, as demonstrated by Apostle Paul, can be very
natural care and concern for the Church. We live in days where over
spiritualisation of the Ministry functions and abuse of spiritual gifts is
causing some parts of the “charismatic” movement to veer towards and border on
the heretical.
