‘Living Free From The
Popularity Cult.’
Ecclesiastes 4:15-16.
a) A young man or woman
replaces the old leader.
b) The new young leader is
popular, many people rush to stand alongside this new leader.
c) Endless crowds gather.
d) The new leader grows
older and a new generation arises.
e) The new generation rejects
this leader and wants their choice.
f) This is all so
meaningless, like chasing the wind.
(Through this
QT I see that it is so important to be Living Free From The Popularity Cult)
----------
‘Great Men Of
God Do Not Know All The Truth Yet.’
Acts 18:24-25.
a) This Jewish man named
Apollos from Alexandria in Egypt.
b) He was eloquent and
powerful in the use of the Scriptures.
c) He went to Ephesus.
d) Apollos was instructed in
the Way of the Lord.
e) Apollos was fervent in
spirit.
f) Apollos spoke and taught
diligently the things about Jesus accurately.
g) Apollos, however, only
knew about the Baptism of John and not about Believer’s Baptism.
(This Second one reminds me that, whoever
they are, Great Men Of God Do Not Know All The Truth Yet)

Chris.
New Leaders are always popular, but, almost inevitably, their
popularity fades in time. All Church Leaders, whether Ordained Ministers,
Trainee Pastors or lay Leaders need to be free and keep free from the
popularity cult. So much hurt can be caused by Christian Leaders who want to be
popular. The example of Jesus Christ is the best example. He humbled Himself
and came to serve and not to lead. Yet Jesus Christ our Lord was probably one
of the greatest, if not the greatest Leader that walked upon this Earth. New
Leaders need to aim to serve and not aim to be popular.
