‘Chosen Branches.’
John 15:2-16.
a) John 15:2. Should expect
pruning so that they can bear more fruit.
b) John 15:3. It is the Word of
the Lord that does the pruning. (Not life experiences)
c) John 15:4. We need to remain
in Christ in order to be fruitful and He remains in us.
d) John 15:5. Jesus Christ is
the Vine and we are the branches, so:-
1- We need to abide in Christ.
2- We need confidence that Christ abides in us.
3- Then we can be fruitful.
4- Without Christ we cannot execute fruitfulness.
e) John 15:6. If we do not
remain in Christ, we:-
1- Are cast out as a branch.
2- Dried up.
3- Put in a fire and burned.
f) John 15:7. If we remain in
Christ and Christ’s Words remain in us then our Prayers will be answered.
g) John 15:8. Our Heavenly
Father is Glorified when we bear much fruit as Disciples of Christ.
h) John 15:9. We are to
continue in the Love of God.
i) John 15:10. The way to
continue in the Love of God is to obey the Commandments of the Lord.
j) John 15:11. Through our
receiving of His Words the Lord wants us to be filled with His Joy.
k) John 15:12. We are commended
to Love one another as Christ has loved us.
l) John 15:13. The greatest
manifestation of Love is to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
m) John 15:14. We are the
friends of the Lord if we do whatever He Commands us to do.
n) John 15:15. Jesus does not
call us slaves. Slaves only obey. Jesus calls us friends and reveals the Father’s
Will to us.
o) John 15:16. We are chosen to
be both Fruitful and Prayerful.
(In this QT I am
caused to rejoice because of being a Chosen Branch)
‘Awe Of The Lord
Jesus And Not Awe Of Angels.’
Hebrews 1:4.
a) Jesus is much higher in rank
than the Angels.
b) Jesus’ Name is much better
than the Name of the Angels.
c) The Name that Jesus has
inherited is more excellent than the Name of Angels.
(This Second one teaches me that I should have
Awe Of The Lord And Not Awe Of Angels)
Chris.
We are chosen to be both Fruitful and Prayerful. The way to be
fruitful is to abide in Christ and the way to be Prayerful is to be filled with
the Holy Spirit and commit oneself to Prayer. Prayer is not just “relationship”
with God, it is also the Calling and Work of the True Believer.
