Philippians 1:29.

This Gift has been given
to us.
b)
It is on Christ’s behalf.
c)
It is not only the Gift
of Believing in Him.
d)
It is also the Gift of
Suffering for Him.

‘God’s Trees.’
Numbers 24:6.
a)
They stretch out like
date palms – they are fruitful.
b)
They are like gardens
beside a stream – they are well watered.
c)
They are like aloes that
the Lord has planted – they are valuable and precious.
d)
They are like cedars
beside the water – they are consistent all year round.

There is
this Gift that every True Believer should and probably will receive. It is the
Gift of Suffering. This is very much a part of New Testament Christianity.
There is debate in the Church whether the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are for this
dispensation and I respect both sides’ opinions. This Gift, the Gift of
Suffering, without doubt, will be with the Church and members of it until Jesus
Christ returns.
