Sickness!



‘Sickness.’
a)       Deuteronomy 28:59; 2 Chronicles 21:18; Micah 6:13. May come from the Lord.
b)       2 Kings 13:14. Sometimes men of God die from sickness.
c)       Nehemiah 2:2. Can make our face sad.
d)       Psalm 41:3. Can be restored to health by the Lord.
e)       Psalm 69:20. May come from a broken heart.
f)        Proverbs 18:14. The spirit of a man can endure it.
g)       Isaiah 10:18. Can cause people to waste away.
h)       Jeremiah 10:19. Must sometimes just simply be born.
i)         Ezekiel 34:16. People suffering from it may be strengthened by the Lord.
j)         Daniel 8:27. Daniel suffered from it.
k)       Hosea 7:5. May come from wine.
l)         Matthew 4:23; 10:1; 14:14. Jesus healed it.
m)      Matthew 9:12. May cause a person to need a physician.
n)       Matthew 10:8. Was something the Disciples of Jesus were to minister to people about so that they could be healed.
o)       Matthew 25:43. People in it need to be visited.
p)       Acts 5:15-16. In the early New Testament Church was sometimes healed miraculously.
q)       1 Corinthians 11:30. Sometimes comes from improperly taking Holy Communion.
r)        2 Timothy 4:20. May prevent someone from travelling.
s)        James 5:14-15. Prayer in Faith may cause it to be healed.

‘Chosen Friends Of Jesus.’
John 15:14-17.
a)       John 15:14. If we do what Jesus commands us He calls us friends.
b)       John 15:15. Jesus no longer calls obedient Disciples servants, He calls them friends.
c)       John 15:15. All that Jesus heard from His Father He made known to His friends.
d)       John 15:16. Jesus chose and appointed His friends that they should go and bear fruit and that their fruit should remain.
e)       John 15:16. Jesus said that whatever His friends asked the Heavenly Father in His Name the Heavenly Father may give it to them.
f)        John 15:17. These things were commanded by Jesus so that the Disciples would love one another.

Jesus does not call obedient Disciples by that name, He calls them friends. A hymn writer penned these words: ‘Friendship With Jesus, Fellowship Divine, Oh What Blessed Sweet Communion, Jesus is a Friend of mine.’ This is the place that, spiritually the Lord wants to bring us to. Let us be challenged to be or to become obedient Disciples of Jesus.
