‘Meeting In The Garden.’
(Christ meets the Church there)
Song of Solomon 4:16.
a)
The garden was
a place where the Wind of the Holy Spirit blew.
b)
The garden was
a place where the Coming of Jesus was remembered. (The spices)
c)
The garden was
a place that belonged to the Lord. (He was the One Who created the first
garden)
d)
The garden was
full of choice fruit. (Especially the fruit of the Holy Spirit and the good
fruit that comes from the lives of True Believers)
(This QT has me wanting to be at the Meeting In The
Garden)
‘It Piles Up When We Are Down.’
1 Kings 19:4.
a)
Elijah went by
himself a day’s journey into the desert. (It is the kind of action we take when
we are down)
b)
Elijah went to
sit down under a broom tree. (Trying to find shelter under a very imperfect
source of shelter)
c)
Elijah asked
the Lord for death, he wanted to die. (This is what happens when we are really
down)
d)
Elijah said
that:-
1-
He had enough.
2-
He wanted the Lord to take away His Life.
3-
He was no better than his fathers.
(This
Second one reveals to me how It Piles Up When We Are Down)
Chris.
This is
true for many of us by experience. It piles up when we are down. We may try to
shrug off our difficulties but most difficulties do not just shrug off. This is
when we really need understanding and compassionate friends and ministers in
the Body of Christ. I think that there are many True Believers living under a
pile of something and are down. This is not sin, it simply means we need to
exercise as a Church the Biblical injunction to weep with those people who are
weeping and to rejoice with those people who are rejoicing.
