It Is A
Time For Better Things.’
Hebrews
6:1-12.
a) Hebrews 6:1. It
is time for most of us to leave the elementary Teaching about Jesus Christ.
b) Hebrews 6:1. It
is time to go on towards perfection and maturity
c) Hebrews 6:1-2.
Do not lay again the foundational Teaching about:-
1- Repentance from dead works.
2- Faith towards God.
3- Doctrine of baptisms.
4- Laying on of hands
5- Resurrection of the dead.
6- Eternal judgment.
d) Hebrews 6:3. We
will do this if God permits it.
e) Hebrews 6:4-5.
It is impossible for those people who have:-
1- Been enlightened.
2- Tasted the Heavenly Gift.
3- Become partakers of the Holy Spirit.
4- Tasted the good Word of God.
5- Tasted the powers of the Age to come.
f) Hebrews 6:6. It
is impossible if they fall away to renew them again to repentance.
g) Hebrews 6:6.
They have crucified again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open
shame.
h) Hebrews 6:7-8.
The Earth that drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs
useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives Blessing from God; but if
it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end
is to be burned.
i) Hebrews 6:9.
But, Beloved, we:-
1- Are confident of better things concerning you.
2- Are confident of things concerning Salvation.
3- Are having to speak in the manner in which we spoke.
j) Hebrews 6:10.
God is not unjust to forget:-
1- Your work.
2- Your labour of Love which you have shown towards His
Name.
3- Your ministry that continues towards the True
Believers.
k) Hebrews 6:11-12.
The writer’s desire for the Hebrew Church:-
1- Was that each person in the Hebrew Church had the same
diligence.
2- Having the same full Assurance of Hope until the end.
3- That they will not become sluggish.
4- That will imitate those people who through Faith and
Patience inherit the Promises of God.
(Through this Second one I thank God that It Is A Time
For Better Things)
Chris.
The writer to the Hebrews did not necessarily enjoy
writing part of this passage. He said that he had to speak/write in this
manner. There were obviously problems in the Hebrew Church that were making
them stagnant and they needed to deal with the problems and move on in God.
