Isaiah 20:1.
a) Sargon was the
very esteemed king of Assyria.
b) His name means “only
king” or “true king”.
c) He sent his
military commander in chief to fight against Ashdod.
d) The commander
went to Ashdod.
e) The commander
captured Ashdod.

‘False Teachers
Create Chaos.’
2 Peter 2:1.
a) Deuteronomy
13:1-3; 18:20; Jeremiah 28:15-17. In the past days (of the Old Testament) there
were false prophets amongst the people.
b) It was the same
in the days of the New Testament and it is the same today.
c) There are false
prophets and false teachers.
d) They teach
things that are wrong and cause people to be lost.
e) Their teaching
can be deceptive, so near to the Truth.
f) They refuse to
simply follow the Lord Jesus and in so doing destroy themselves.

Ashdod was a place that frequently experienced the
pains to do with death and war. It became one of the chief cities of the
Philistines. The people saw the miraculous Presence of God defeat their idols.
We can learn much by looking at the history of some of the cities mentioned in
the Scriptures.
