‘Jesus
Sometimes Taught With Stories.’
Matthew
13:24.
a)
Jesus told
stories to Teach the people.
b)
He taught the
people about God’s Kingdom.
c)
He taught using
the illustration of farmers.
d)
His Teaching
could be easily understood by the general public around Him.
(This
QT reminds me that Jesus Sometimes Taught With Stories)
‘Happiness
For The Wrong Reason.’
Luke
10:17.
a)
Seventy two
Disciples of Jesus came back from their ministry trip.
b)
They were very
happy.
c)
They always
remembered that Jesus was the Lord. (And still is)
d)
They said that
even the demons obeyed them when they used the Lord’s Name to cast them out.
e)
These Disciples
were happy for the wrong reason. It was not the Joy of the Lord, it was the
happiness of Ministry “success”.
(This
Second one makes me realise that sometimes we Believers get Happiness For The
Wrong Reason)
Chris.
Jesus
told stories to Teach the people. Most of the stories He told He told to
non-believers. When Jesus first taught His Disciples at the Sermon on the
Mount, these were very clear and straight Teachings about how True Believers
should live. We should not be confused by this issue. Stories have their place
in Church, especially to new Believers and in Children’s Ministry. Outside Church,
they are very useful at explaining Biblical and Gospel Truth to the
non-believers.
