‘The Prayer Request.
Isaiah 37:3-4.
a) They told Isaiah just how much Hezekiah was
struggling because of the King of Assyria’s threats.
b) For God’s People this had been a day of:-
1- Misery.
2- Punishment.
3- Disgrace.
4- Failure.
c) The Rabshekah came from the King of Assyria to
make fun of the Living God.
d) Maybe, they said, the Living God will hear the
words of the Rabshekah and punish him.
e) The men asked Isaiah to Pray for them and all
of God’s People that they represented.
(This QT reveals to me The Prayer Request of desperate men)
‘Jesus Cleansed The Temple.’
Mark 11:15.
a) Jesus returned to Jerusalem.
b) He went into the Temple courtyard.
c) Jesus threw out those people who were buying
and selling their wares there.
d) He overturned the moneychangers’ tables.
e) Jesus also upset the benches of those people
who sold doves.
(This Second one makes me think of some Churches today: Jesus
Cleansed The Temple)

There are times when, just like the messengers for King Hezekiah,
we really want to see the punishing Hand of God come upon those who oppose us
or accuse us. Instead of turning to revenge or bitterness we can learn from
these messengers and turn to Prayer.
