‘Silence
Silences The Accuser.’
Isaiah 36:18-21.
a) Isaiah 36:18. The King of Assyria said to God’s
People that they were not to listen to Nehemiah when he says that the Lord will
rescue you.
b) Isaiah 36:18. No god of any Nation has
delivered the people from the King of Assyria.
c) Isaiah 36:19. The king of Samaria defeated the
kings of:-
1-
Hamath.
2-
Arpad.
3-
Sephervaim.
d) Isaiah 36:20. The gods of these countries
could not rescue them. How can the Lord rescue Jerusalem from the control of
the Assyrian king?
e) Isaiah 36:21. The Leaders of the people of
Jerusalem were silent because their King told them to be silent.
(This
QT shows me that sometimes Silence Silences The Accuser)
‘Say
Shibboleth.’
Judges
12:5-6.
a) The
men of Gilead captured the shallow crossings of the Jordan River leading back
to Ephraim.
b) Whenever a fugitive from Ephraim wanted to
cross the men of Gilead would ask them if they were from Ephraim.
c) If they said they were not then the men of
Gilead asked them to say “shibboleth”.
d) If they could not say it, but only ‘sibboleth’,
then they would be killed by the men of Gilead.
e) This is amazing … 42,000 men from Ephraim
died.
(This Second one
teaches me of an important time to Say Shibboleth)
Chris.
What a difference
a word can make! By saying one word the person speaking would live or die. The
Bible has lots to say about our words. We are to be honest in our words and we
are to Bless other people with our words too.
