Generosity Or Repentance?



‘Generosity Or Repentance?’
Luke 3:11.
a)        The words of John the Baptist.
b)        If you have two shirts.
c)        Give one to the poor.
d)        If you have food.
e)        Share it with those people who are hungry.
(Through this QT I need to examine my motives: is this Generosity Or Repentance?)

3-       Spiritual songs among yourselves.
b)        Making music to the Lord.
c)        In our heart.
(This Second one teaches me A Lovely Evidence Of Being Filled With The Holy Spirit)

Share food with those people who are hungry. The point that John was getting at was that the people were very selfish and greedy. They had many feasts, most of which were religious. This was hypocrisy when the poor people amongst them had no food. This kind of behaviour was totally against what God had told His People when giving them the Law. The responsibility of sharing food for the hungry people was and is not so much an individual thing but the responsibility should be taken by the group – the Church.
