Burdens should be equally shared, first of all in the natural
family and then in the Church family. Many families do not care about the
burdens that their own family members carry. Especially in Western style
society, there is generally strong independence and a lack of care in the
family. Even Churches in Western society are generally lacking expressions of
care. Because Christianity spread from West to East, with the exception of St.
Thomas, many Eastern Churches are impregnated with Western values about burdens.
The Church needs to adapt this Biblical Principle of burdens being equally
shared.
