‘They Just Carried On.’
Acts 20:11-12.
a) Apostle Paul had just brought back to life the young man who
had fallen asleep whilst sitting on the upstairs window sill and fell off. He
fell far down and died.
b) Paul went back upstairs
and led the Holy Communion (Lord’s Supper).
c) They had a meal together
and Paul continued talking until dawn.
d) Paul then left.
e) The young man was then taken home alive and unhurt.
f) Everyone was greatly
comforted and relieved.
(This QT encourages me: They Just Carried On)
‘Overcoming Trials.’
James 1:2-4.
a) James 1:2. The Body of
Christ should take it as an opportunity for great Joy when troubles come along.
b) James 1:3; 5:11; Hebrews
6:12. When our Faith is being tested our Endurance has a chance to grow.
c) James 1:4. When our
endurance is fully developed, we will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
(This Second one helps me to be Overcoming Trials)
Chris.
This is a very lovely summary of the situation just faced in the
History of the New Testament Church in the Acts of the Apostles. It says that
everyone was greatly comforted and relieved. How lovely if these kinds of
experiences can be had I our Churches today, when everyone was greatly
comforted and relieved.
