‘Meaningless Toil.’
a)
Ecclesiastes 1:3. When it
seems that after toiling all day long there is no real result.
b)
Ecclesiastes 2:11. When I
surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve:-
1-
Everything was meaningless.
2-
Everything was chasing after the wind.
3-
Nothing was gained under the sun.
c)
Ecclesiastes 2:22. What
do people get for all the toil and anxious striving with which they labour
under the sun?
d)
Ecclesiastes 3:9. What do
workers gain from their toil?
e)
Ecclesiastes 5:15.
Everyone:-
1-
Comes naked from their mother’s womb.
2-
Comes and in the same way they depart.
3-
Can take nothing from their toil.
4-
Carries nothing in their hands.
f)
Ecclesiastes 5:16. This
is a grievous evil, we come and go and gain nothing.
(This QT reminds me that life without God is Meaningless Toil)
‘Living Correctly.’
1 Peter 2:12.
a)
We are to live, as True
Believers, good lives among the pagans.
b)
Even though the pagans
may accuse us of doing wrong.
c)
They will see our good
deeds.
d)
They will Glorify God on
the Day that He visits us.
(This
Second one reminds me to be Living Correctly)
Chris.
For
some people, when they look back on their lives, sense that everything was and
has been meaningless. This is especially so amongst people who do not know the
Lord. This also can be a temptation for the True Believer that Satan would use,
to bring that Believer into depression and a sense of hopelessness. We need to
overcome such accusations of Satan and keep Trusting the Lord. He is able to
keep us.
