Our Lord Jesus!

‘Our Lord Jesus.’
1 Corinthians 5:4-5.
a) The Christian’s ultimate authority is in the Name of our Lord Jesus.
b) The Power of our Lord Jesus, and not ours, is able to hand a person over to Satan for their body to be destroyed so that their spirit will be saved.
c) The Day of our Lord Jesus is the day of His Return.
(This QT gives me great reverence for Our Lord Jesus)

‘God Intervened In Elijah’s Life.’
1 Kings 19:1-21.
a) 1 Kings 19:1. News had reached the Queen Jezebel of how Elijah had killed all the prophets of Baal whom she had adhered to.
b) 1 Kings 19:2. Jezebel intended to kill Elijah.
c) 1 Kings 19:3. Elijah heard this threat and uncharacteristically rose up and fled to Beer Sheba. He left his servant there.
d) 1 Kings 19:4. Elijah went alone into the desert and prayed to God that he wished to die.
e) 1 Kings 19:5-6. As Elijah slept alone in the desert God sent an Angel to him to provide food and drink. Obviously God did not want Elijah to die.
f) 1 Kings 19:7. The Angel came a second time with God’s provision and spoke of a journey Elijah was going to take.
g) 1 Kings 19:8. Without consulting God Elijah went off to Horeb the mountain of God.
h) 1 Kings 19:9. Upon reaching the mountain Elijah went to hide in a cave. God came to him in the cave and asked Elijah what he was doing.
i) 1 Kings 19:10 & 14. Elijah told God an untrue story that was deeply in his heart. Because of fear, Elijah was believing the wrong thing.
j) 1 Kings 19:11-13. God told Elijah to go to the mouth of the cave and God met him again there asking him the same question.
k) 1 Kings 19:15-18. God told Elijah what he had to do. God did not listen to Elijah’s sob story. God also told Elijah the real facts, the Truth.
l) 1 Kings 19:19-21. Elijah went and did it. God’s loving and powerful intervention brought Elijah back into the Will of God.
(This Second one show me what happened when God Intervened In Elijah’s Life)

Chris.
It is not limited to us coming to God, sometimes when we are very down and in a difficult situation we do not know what to do. So instead of coming to God we run to a cave. There in the cave our condition does not improve at all. Thank God that in His Love and Mercy God may come to the cave.
