‘Paul’s Athenian Message.’
Acts 17:22-31.
After seeing the spiritual condition of Athens, Apostle Paul was
deeply moved in his heart. He stood before the Philosophers’ Council and spoke
out this message from the Lord.
a) Acts 17:22. He affirmed their being religious people. Not
just philosophy but philosophy plus religion.
b) Acts 17:23. As he had walked around Athens, he saw the altar
raised to the unknown god.
c) Acts 17:23. He wanted to proclaim to the council who God
really was.
d) Acts 17:24-26. The True God was and is:-
1-17:24. The God Who made the World and everything in it.
2-17:24. Lord of Heaven and Earth.
3-17:24. Not living in temples made by men.
4-17:25. Not able to have His needs met by human beings.
5-17:25. The Giver to all mankind of:-
A-
Life.
B-
Breath.
C-
Everything.
6-17:26. The Maker from one man of every
Nation of Mankind on the Face of the Earth.
7-17:26. The One Who determines the
allotted periods and the boundaries of mankind’s dwelling places.
e) Acts 17:27. We respond to the True God, Who is not far from
each of us by:-
1-
Seeking Him.
2-
Feeling our way towards Him.
3-
Finding Him.
f) Acts 17:28. We are Created by God, God’s offspring, in Him
we:-
1-
Live.
2-
Move.
3-
Have our being.
g) Acts 17:29. God could never be thought of as an idol.
h) Acts 17:30-31. God’s actions:-
1-
Overlooking times of ignorance.
2-
Now commands everyone everywhere to repent.
3-
Fixing a day in which He will judge the World in Righteousness
by a Man (Christ) Whom He has appointed.
4-
Giving assurance to everyone of His Plans through raising Christ
from the dead.

gives me a clear understanding of Paul’s Athenian Message)

‘Believe And Not Doubt.’
a) James 1:6. When we ask, we must believe and not doubt.
b) Hebrews 11:6. And without faith it is impossible to please
him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he
rewards those who seek him.
c) Matthew 15:25-28. But she came and knelt before him, saying,
"Lord, help me." And he answered, "It is not right to take the
children’s bread and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Yes, Lord, yet
even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table." Then
Jesus answered her, "O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as
you desire." And her daughter was healed instantly.
d) Matthew 17:20. He said to
them, "Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have
faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from
here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."
(This Second one encourages me to Believe and Not Doubt)

Chris.
Jesus was able to say to a woman: “Great is your Faith.” When I read this I have that similar desire, that He could say to me something similar, something that would encourage me as I walk day by day with Him. Where can I find Him speaking to me like that? Only in one place, His Holy Word.
