‘Grief Can Affect Our Physical Health.’
a) Psalm 31:10. Grief can cause:-
1- Premature death.
2- Years shortened by sadness.
3- Strength being drained.
4- Wasting away from within.
b) Psalm 32:4. Strength evaporating like water in the summer heat.
c) Psalm 102:3. Sickness in the bones.
d) Psalm 102:4. Sickness in the heart.
e) Psalm 102:4. Loss of appetite.
f) Psalm 102:5. Excessive weight loss.
(This QT makes me realise that Grief Can Affect My Physical Health)

‘Speak To Our Own Soul When We Are Down.’
Psalm 42:5-11.
a) Psalm 42:5. We can question our own negative feelings and not just accept them:-
1- Hope in God.
2- You shall Praise Him again.
3- He shares His countenance with us.
b) Psalm 42:6. Come to God when our soul is cast down.
c) Psalm 42:7. Being down is not an easy experience – sometimes we are overwhelmed.
d) Psalm 42:8. God is still there:-
1- He will command His Loving Kindness in the daytime.
2- In the night He gives us His song.
3- We can still pray to the God of our life.
e) Psalm 42:9. We can pour out our heart to God and ask “why”?
f) Psalm 42:10. Our enemies may be attacking our Faith with their mouths.
g) Psalm 42:11. God is still our God.
(This Second one helps me to realise that I Can Speak To My Own Soul When I Am Down)

Being down is not an easy experience and it is quite a common experience. People go through all kinds of negative experiences, actions and emotions when they are down and are usually at their most vulnerable. Being able to weep with those people who weep is a very useful text to remember for the friends of the person who is down. There is nothing more damaging than a well meaning amateur counsellor.
