Chris.
When I think of Saint Peter the Apostle I think about not an amazing man but rather a man with an amazing God. Until the resurrection of Christ, Peter was a very weak and unstable disciple of Jesus. He was trying to follow Christ in his way rather than Christ’s Way. After the Resurrection, Peter’s life was changed by God. Amazing God.

We are so limited often in our understanding of the Holy Spirit. He is God. There are so many ways in which the Holy Spirit is related to us. The Body of Christ is the place where God lives by His Holy Spirit and we are a part of that Body.

The Church Needs To Stay Pure!

‘The Church Needs To Stay Pure.’

b) The Church should not let impure things go on within it.
c) If one person is sinning the entire Church is affected.
d) Wicked unrepentant people need to be removed from the Church so that the Church can remain pure.

------------
Chris.
Church programmes are important. Especially in larger Churches, for the Church to meet the needs of many people there needs to be carefully planned programmes. It is important however for the Cross and its theme to be presented as more important that the programmes and the Cross to be lived out in the lives of those people planning the programmes as well as the attendees.

d) We are living stones being built up as a spiritual house.
e) We are a Holy Priesthood – this refers not so much to the individual but to the Church.
f) We are to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
(This Second one gives me the desire to offer up spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God – Christ Our Living Stone)
---------
Chris.
Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the only way to Father God. We can come to Him. One of the invitations that He gives to us in the Gospels is it come to Him. He is Choice and Precious in the sight of God the Father. He is the Only Son through Whom God provides Salvation for us.

Grief Can Affect Our Physical Health!

‘Grief Can Affect Our Physical Health.’

f) Psalm 42:10. Our enemies may be attacking our Faith with their mouths.
g) Psalm 42:11. God is still our God.
(This Second one helps me to realise that I Can Speak To My Own Soul When I Am Down)
--------
Chris.
Being down is not an easy experience and it is quite a common experience. People go through all kinds of negative experiences, actions and emotions when they are down and are usually at their most vulnerable. Being able to weep with those people who weep is a very useful text to remember for the friends of the person who is down. There is nothing more damaging than a well meaning amateur counsellor.

Our Lord Jesus!

‘Our Lord Jesus.’
1 Corinthians 5:4-5.
a) The Christian’s ultimate authority is in the Name of our Lord Jesus.
b) The Power of our Lord Jesus, and not ours, is able to hand a person over to Satan for their body to be destroyed so that their spirit will be saved.

(This QT gives me great reverence for Our Lord Jesus)

d) 1 Kings 19:4. Elijah went alone into the desert and prayed to God that he wished to die.

f) 1 Kings 19:7. The Angel came a second time with God’s provision and spoke of a journey Elijah was going to take.
g) 1 Kings 19:8. Without consulting God Elijah went off to Horeb the mountain of God.
h) 1 Kings 19:9. Upon reaching the mountain Elijah went to hide in a cave. God came to him in the cave and asked Elijah what he was doing.
i) 1 Kings 19:10 & 14. Elijah told God an untrue story that was deeply in his heart. Because of fear, Elijah was believing the wrong thing.

k) 1 Kings 19:15-18. God told Elijah what he had to do. God did not listen to Elijah’s sob story. God also told Elijah the real facts, the Truth.
l) 1 Kings 19:19-21. Elijah went and did it. God’s loving and powerful intervention brought Elijah back into the Will of God.
(This Second one show me what happened when God Intervened In Elijah’s Life)
-------
Chris.
It is not limited to us coming to God, sometimes when we are very down and in a difficult situation we do not know what to do. So instead of coming to God we run to a cave. There in the cave our condition does not improve at all. Thank God that in His Love and Mercy God may come to the cave.

(This Second one is a caution to me when I see the prosperity of wicked people I must heed this and Do Not Let It Get To Me)
------
Chris.
A gentle answer turns away wrath. Frequently people get into unnecessary conflicts because they do not give a gentle answer when they have the opportunity to do so. A gentle answer also helps our heath and saves our blood pressure from going up.

‘Familiarity Hinders God’s Work.’

f) Matthew 13:57. Jesus told them that only in his hometown and in his own house is a prophet without honour.
g) Matthew 13:58. Jesus did not many miracles there because of their unbelief.
(This QT clearly teaches me that Familiarity Hinder’s God’s Work)
-----
‘A Time Of Inner Struggle.’
Psalm 69:1-2.
a) A time when God’s help is urgently needed.
b) A time when we cannot stand firm.
c) A time of deep waters where floods overflow.
d) A time of sinking because there seems to be no foundation to stand on.
e) A time of being overwhelmed.
(This Second one reminds me that some people reading this may be going through A Time Of Inner Struggle, I pray for them)
-----
Chris.
The habit of Jesus was to go into the synagogue to serve the people with His Teaching and with Miracles. This was a pattern that the Disciples carried forward into the New Testament Church. Has the modern Church in some cases lost the Way that the Lord intends because it pleases itself rather than seeks to please the Lord?

Whether Absent Or Present!

‘Whether Absent Or Present.’

f) Philippians 1:27. Apostle Paul encouraged the Church to stand side by side and fight together for the Good News.
g) Colossians 2:5. Apostle Paul could take note that the Believers were living as they should with strong faith in Christ.
(This QT shows me that effective ministry can take place by a Minister Whether Absent Or Present as long as the Church had Biblical resident Elders)
----
‘When The Lord Chooses Someone.’
1 Samuel 16:7.
a) He does not consider their height.
b) He does not consider how handsome they are.
c) When God rejects someone – that is it – they are rejected.
d) He does not see as people see.
e) He does not look at their outward appearance.
f) He looks at a person’s heart.
(This Second one teaches me what is taken into consideration When The Lord Chooses Someone)
----
Chris.
God given Authority is supposed to be a very positive thing. If a Minister who is called by God is trusted by God with this God given Authority then he will use it to build up the Church. The purpose of this Authority is not to pull people down.

Uprightness And Right Living!

r) 2 Peter 3:13. Abides in the New Heavens and the New Earth.
(This QT calls me to Uprightness And Right Living)
---
‘Watch Out For People Who Make Divisions In The Church.’
Romans 16:17-18.
a) They make other people fall away from Faith.
b) They teach doctrine contrary to what we have learned.
c) We are to stay away from them.
d) These people are not serving Christ our Lord.
e) These people are serving their own desires.
f) By their smooth talk and flattering words they deceive unsuspecting people.
(This Second one clearly instructs me to Watch Out For People Who Make Divisions In The Church)
---
Chris.
Every True Believer is called to Uprightness and Right Living. This is the condition that all Churches should be found in. If this is so, then the people in the World system will see the reality of the Gospel in people’s lives and be attracted to respond to Jesus Christ. Let us be committed to Uprightness and Right Living.

Apostle Paul The Preacher!

‘Apostle Paul The Preacher.’
1 Corinthians 2:3-4 & 2 Corinthians 10:10.
a) He came in:-
1- Weakness.
2- Fear.
3- Much trembling.
b) His speech was not in persuasive words of “wisdom”.
c) His Preaching was not in persuasive words of “wisdom”.
d) His Ministry was based on the demonstration of the Power of the Holy Spirit.
e) His letters were weighty and powerful.
f) As a “speaker” he was regarded as nothing.
(This QT teaches me the good example set by Apostle Paul The Preacher)
--------------------
‘Being Ready To Live In God’s Kingdom.’
1 Corinthians 6:9-11.
a) Those people who do not enter the Kingdom of God:-
1- Fornicators.
2- Idolaters.
3- Adulterers.
4- Passive or active homosexuals.
5- Thieves.
6- Greedy people.
7- Drunkards.
8- Revilers.
9- Extortioners.
b) Some Church people were previously in that condition.
c) Change came to their lives through:-
1- Being made clean.
2- Being Sanctified.
3- Being Justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
4- Being Justified in the Spirit of our God.
(This Second one shows me the importance of Being Ready To Live In God’s Kingdom)
--------------------
Chris.
Apostle Paul’s letters were weighty and powerful. There is a gift of writing, whether it be of books or letters. This gift should be recognised as a Gift of the Holy Spirit just as much as the other Spiritual Gifts. Let us treasure and honour anointed Christian Authors and Writers.

Church Discipline!

‘Church Discipline.’
1 Corinthians 5:2.

g) 1 Timothy 1:16. But I obtained mercy for the reason that in me, as the foremost of sinners, Jesus Christ might show forth and display all His perfect long-suffering and patience for an example to encourage those people who would thereafter believe on Him for the gaining of Eternal Life.
h) 1 Peter 2:10. In the past we had not, but now we have.
(This Second one reminds me of the wonderful Grace in Obtaining Mercy)
-------------------
Chris.
Sometimes we shirk away from Church Discipline because of fear of unjust judgement being given or anger being manifested. Those kinds of manifestation are really not to be present at times of Church Discipline. When Church Discipline is being given it should be in gentleness and grief, then it will be correct.

Wise Women!

‘Wise Women.’
a) Proverbs 14:1. Build their houses.
b) 2 Samuel 14:2. Can sometimes pretend effectively.

3- Purely.
(This Second one teaches me about The Challenge To Forgive Other People)
------------------
Chris.
Forgiveness needs to be given to repentant people. If people are not repentant we cannot, and are not expected to, give them forgiveness. In such cases what we can do is simply pray to God and tell Him that we forgive them.

The Fear Of People!

‘The Fear Of People.’
Galatians 2:11-13.
a) Galatians 2:11. Can cause us to be in conflict with true Servants of the Lord.
b) Galatians 2:11. Can cause us to be clearly wrong in our decisions.
c) Galatians 2:12. Can make us double minded.
d) Galatians 2:12. Causes double minded decisions.
e) Galatians 2:13. Can make us influence other people and lead them astray.
(This QT makes me want to keep free from The Fear Of People)
-----------------
‘The Word Of The Cross.’
1 Corinthians 1:18-29.
a) 1 Corinthians 1:18. Is foolishness to those people who are on the way to destruction.
b) 1 Corinthians 1:18. To us who are on the Way to Salvation it is the Power of God.
c) 1 Corinthians 1:19. God will put an end to the wisdom of secularly minded “wise” and “discerning” people.
d) 1 Corinthians 1:20. God makes foolish the Wisdom of this World system.
e) 1 Corinthians 1:21. In God’s Wisdom the World system with all its wisdom cannot have the knowledge of God and that through the seeming foolishness of preaching God gives Salvation to those people who have Faith in Him.
f) 1 Corinthians 1:22-23. The Message to be preached is Christ Crucified.
g) 1 Corinthians 1:24. To the people that are called by God, Christ is the Power of God and Christ is the Wisdom of God.
h) 1 Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
i) 1 Corinthians 1:26-28. God has called through the Word of the Cross:-
1- Not many wise people.
2- Not many mighty people.
3- Not many noble people.
4- Foolish people.
5- Weak people.
6- Base people.
7- Despised people.
8- People that are nothing in the eyes of the World.
j) 1 Corinthians 1:29. So that no flesh should glory before God.
(This Second one shows me the Power of The Word Of The Cross)
-----------------
Chris.
Sometimes people like to be seen by other people as being “strong”. This is actually great human weakness. This is flesh only and has no part in true Christianity or in a True Believer’s life. Our dependence is upon God and not upon flesh.

Those People Who Commit Immorality In Church!

‘Those People Who Commit Immorality In The Church.’

h) Colossians 3:5. Need to put it to death inside them.
i) 1 Thessalonians 4:7. Need to remember that God has called us to Holiness.
(This QT teaches me how to handle Those People Who Commit Immorality In The Church)
----------------
‘Arrogance.’

h) Psalm 119:85. Hates God’s Law and causes people to dig pits for godly people to fall into.
i) Psalm 119:122. People with it desire to oppress other people.
j) Psalm 123:4. Has contempt for God’s People.
k) Isaiah 5:15; 26:5. Will be brought down to the dust.
l) Ezekiel 33:28. The power of it will come to an end.
m) Habakkuk 2:5. Is never at rest.
n) Zephaniah 3:4. Motivates lying prophets who are seeking their own gain.
o) 1 Corinthians 4:18. Can creep into the Church.
p) Titus 1:7. Must not be in the life of a Church Elder.
(This Second one makes me hate all Arrogance)
----------------
Chris.
Those people who commit sexual sin in the Church usually forget that they are committing sin against their own body. They often realise the sin that they are committing with somebody but neglect themselves. God holds them responsible first for their sin against themselves.

(I am cautioned by this Second one, Peter’s Fear – Causing Him To Deny Christ)
---------------
Chris.
Our God is a Covenant keeping God. We always need to remember this in our life as Believers in Him. If we are to enjoy the benefits of His Covenants we should obey Him. We should not forget the basic Character of God or His Covenants.

Woe To You!

‘Woe To You.’
Matthew 23:13-15.
This passage shows us very clearly that a sad fate would come to the legalistic and hypocritical Jewish Teachers of the Law. The same principle applies today to any “servants of the Lord” who are legalistic and hypocritical.
a) Matthew 23:13. They shut the door of the Kingdom of Heaven in people’s faces. (Offending them so that they cannot receive God’s Gift of Eternal Life)
b) Matthew 23:13. They themselves do not have Eternal Life.
c) Matthew 23:14. They travel over land and sea to make disciples of hell.
d) Matthew 23:15. They are concerned more about money than the Worship of the Lord.
(This QT strongly shows me that God loves everyone is a religious fallacy. He speaks Woe To You over the lives of legalistic and hypocritical people who claim to be His “servants”)
--------------
‘When We Have Been With Jesus’
Acts 4:13.
a) We will have courage.
b) If we have an inferior education other people will not despise us.
c) Even though we are ordinary people people will realise that we have been with Jesus.
(This Second one teaches me what happens When We Have Been With Jesus)
--------------
Chris.
The Church is still exposed in these days and this generation to legalistic and hypocritical “teachers”. Rather than just criticise and gossip about these people the Church needs to see them as Jesus does. Forbid them because they are messengers of death and not of life.

I Will Come To You!

‘I Will Come To You.’
1 Corinthians 4:19-21.
These words were written by Apostle Paul before his intended visit to Corinth and the Church there.
a) 1 Corinthians 4:19. I will come IF it is pleasing to the Lord.
b) 1 Corinthians 4:19. Apostle Paul did not want to be around any prideful people.
c) 1 Corinthians 4:19. He wanted to take a note of and be in the Power of God that was at work in the Corinthian Church.
d) 1 Corinthians 4:20. The Kingdom of God is not about words but about the Power of God.
e) 1 Corinthians 4:21. Apostle Paul, as a spiritual father of the Church could come with:-
1- Punishment.
2- Love.
3- Gentleness.
(This QT really encourages me about ministry to the Churches, I Will Come To You)
-------------
‘Do Not Take A Man’s Position Into Account.’
James 2:1-4.
This passage teaches me that we should not honour important people for our advantage. We should honour them for who they are and not for our own benefit.
a) James 2:1. We live by Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
b) James 2:2. All kinds of people come into the house of Worship.
c) James 2:3. All comers should be welcomed and comfortable.
d) James 2:4. The Church should not have wrong motives in such matters. That is evil thinking.
(This Second one reminds me, as the Church, we Do Not Take A Man’s Position Into Account)
-------------
Chris.
The Book of James is so practical. Here we find how our attitudes and behaviour in Church should be – it is taught in a very clear way. To read through the Book of James will surely give a good reminder to us of how it should be in Church.

Biblical Discipline Of Children!

‘Biblical Discipline Of Children.’
a) Proverbs 13:24. Means that they are loved by their parents.
b) Hebrews 12:7. Whoever heard of a child that was not disciplined?
c) Hebrews 12:8. If we have learned to submit to our earthly father’s discipline, it is much easier to submit to our Heavenly Father’s Discipline.
d) Hebrews 12:9. We respect fathers who discipline us properly.
e) Hebrews 12:10. Fathers disciplining their children in the best way they know how.
f) Hebrews 12:11. Who enjoys being disciplined? But it produces good fruit in our lives.
(Through this QT I see the necessity for Biblical Discipline Of Children)
------------
‘How The Lord Decides About People.’
1 Samuel 16:7.
a) He sometimes rejects them.
b) James 2:1-4. Not in the same way as human beings do. People judge by outward appearance.
c) The Lord looks at a person’s thoughts.
d) The Lord looks at a person’s intentions.
(This Second one reminds me of How The Lord Decides About People)
------------
Chris.
Parents who truly love their children are interested in every part of their lives. It means that will also discipline them in a loving and caring Biblical way. Some parents do not love their children but, rather, idolise them. This idolising of children is going to cause them great harm in their future.

The John The Baptist Style!

‘The John The Baptist Style.’
Matthew 3:1-7.
a) Matthew 3:1. He preached in the Desert of Judaea.
b) Matthew 3:2. His Message was about repentance and the Kingdom of God.
c) Matthew 3:3. John’s Ministry was prophesied about by Isaiah. Isaiah said:-
1- John would be crying out his message in the desert.
2- John called the people to prepare the Way for the Lord.
3- Make a smooth and straight path for the Lord (by responding to Him).
d) Matthew 3:4. John’s clothes and food were very simple.
e) Matthew 3:5. People went out into the desert to hear John from:-
1- Jerusalem.
2- Judaea.
3- Jordan.
f) Matthew 3:6. These people were water baptised by John and confessed their sins before God.
g) Matthew 3:7. John saw some Pharisee and Sadducee Jewish religious teachers coming out to look. He called them snakes and asked them how they were going to flee from the wrath to come.
(Through this QT I am challenged by The John The Baptist Style)
-----------
‘Solomon In The New Testament.’
a) Matthew 12:42; Luke 11:31. His Wisdom is inferior to the Wisdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
b) Matthew 1:6-7. The Lord Jesus Christ came from his line in His human form.
c) Matthew 6:29; Luke 12:27. In all his glorious clothing Solomon was not as beautiful as the simple flowers that God created.
d) John 10:23; Acts 3:11; 5:12. A part of the Temple in the times of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Earth was named after Solomon.
e) Acts 7:47. Stephen referred to Solomon as the Temple builder.
(Through this Second one I am challenged to read more about the Old Testament characters that are referred to in the New Testament, Solomon In The New Testament)
-----------
Chris.
The Lord Jesus Christ was and is all Wise. All that He said whilst physically upon the Earth was the Wisdom of God. We need to read and receive into our hearts the Wisdom of God. It devastates the Church and the Mission of the Church when people replace the revealed Wisdom of God with mere human reasoning.

b) Acts 16:30-31. Can save entire households.

c) Acts 3:19. Is able to Bless and refresh those people whose sins are forgiven.

d) Acts 17:31. Is going to Judge the World.

e) Romans 10:9-10. Should be confessed by our mouths as Lord.

(This Second one gives me strong confidence in Jesus Christ)

----------

Chris.

Part of the Life of real Church is calling people to Repentance so that they can truly Worship and serve the Lord in His Kingdom. Church discipline is also important. Too many Churches, for fear of losing their “popularity” forsake Church discipline. That is a big mistake and sin of the Church.

t) Daniel 9:24. Should be wiped away.

u) Hosea 10:4. Is like poisonous weeds in a farmer’s field.

b) Matthew 3:11; John 1:15; Acts 19:4. John Baptist confessed Jesus to the people.

g) 1 John 4:15. Means that God lives in us and we live in God.

----------

Chris.

We can receive many forms of encouragement and motivation from the Ministry of John the Baptist. The Bible tells us that he was a man sent by God. He lived a pure and humble life in front of people and he had the purest motive to Glorify God. He said of Jesus Christ – He must increase, I must decrease – I like that!

c) Teach the Disciples all that we have been taught by the Lord.

d) The Lord is with us until the end of the Age.

(Here is a timely reminder for me to Go And Do It)

---------

Chris.

In some Christian environments people have superstition and fear about the ministry of Deliverance from evil spirits. This ministry is a part of the proclamation of the Gospel – setting the captives free – and we should not be afraid of a Biblically sound Deliverance Ministry.

The Christian Life!

'The Christian Life.' a)  Deuteronomy 7:11. Keep the Word of  God. b)  Deuteronomy  7:12. Listen to the Word of God. c)  Deuteronomy...
