‘Simply Put – It Is Wrong.’
1 Timothy 6:3-5.
a) 1
Timothy 6:3. Teaching that is incorrect:-
1- Teaching rebellion.
2- Teaching that does not agree with the sound
Words of our Lord Jesus Christ.
3- Teaching that is not in accordance with
godliness.
b) 1
Timothy 6:4. Teaching that is incorrect:-
1- Teaching that is conceited.
2- Teaching that shows that the “teacher”
understands nothing.
3- Teaching that has a morbid craving for
controversy.
4- Teaching that has a morbid craving for
disputes about words.
5- Teaching that produces:-
A- Jealousy.
B- Disagreements.
C- Dissension.
D- Slander.
E- Evil suspicion.
c) 1
Timothy 6:5. This “teaching” produces nasty quarrels.
d) 1
Timothy 6:5. These “teachers” are depraved in mind and are bereft of the Truth.
They imagine that godliness is a means of gain. This is interpreted today as
the “prosperity gospel”.
(I
clearly understand the content of this QT: Simply Put It Is Wrong, it gives me
strong desire to search for and to teach the Truth)
‘Powerful
Christ.’
1
Corinthians 1:24.
a) For those of us who are Called and Chosen.
b) We have Christ the Power of God.
c) We have Christ the Wisdom of God.
(This Second one calls me to exclaim
Powerful Christ)
Chris.
Imagining that godliness is a means of
gain is “vain imagination” and a lie. This message is often brought to the fore
in wealthy Churches and emphasized so that the Church becomes financially
fatter and fatter and huge sums of money are spent on self consumption rather
than simply supporting the work of Mission or helping the poor people.
