When The Lord Stretches Out His Hand!

‘When The Lord Stretches Out His Hand.’
Isaiah 31:3.
a)      The Egyptians are men and not God.
b)      The Egyptians’ horses are flesh and not spirit.
c)       When the Lord stretches out His Hand then everybody will fall down.
(This QT teaches me what can happen When The Lord Stretches Out His Hand)
----------
‘Faith And Humility.’
Matthew 8:5-10.
a)      Matthew 8:5. The Centurion came and asked Jesus to help.
b)      Matthew 8:6. The Centurion told Jesus about the sickness and suffering of his servant.
c)       Matthew 8:7. Jesus said that He would go and Heal him.
d)      Matthew 8:8. The Centurion’s humble reply.
e)      Matthew 8:9. The Centurion understood Authority.
f)        Matthew 8:10. Jesus marvelled at the Faith and Humility of this Centurion.
(This Second one teaches me about Faith And Humility)
----------
Chris.

The Hand of the Lord is strong. We read many Scriptures about the Hand of the Lord. Here we read about everybody falling down when the Lord stretches out His Hand. When the Hand of the Lord is on someone in a positive way then they will not fail as they Honour Him.

An Established Testimony!

‘An Established Testimony.’
Psalm 78:4-5.
a)     All the Works of the Lord should not be hidden from the children.
b)     The next generation should hear of:-
1-     The Praiseworthy Deeds of the Lord.
2-    The Strength of the Lord.
3-    The Power of the Lord.
4-    The Wonderful Works of the Lord.
c)     The Lord has established a Testimony in Jacob and a Law in Israel.
d)    The Lord Commanded the fathers that they should make known the Testimony and Law to their children.
(Through this QT I thank God for An Established Testimony)
---------
‘Stop Doubting And Believe.’
John 20:27.
a)     Jesus obviously loved Thomas as a Friend and a Disciple. He knew that Thomas would be founder of the Church in India.
b)     Jesus helped Thomas to Believe by asking him to actually touch and feel His Resurrection Body.
c)     Then Jesus said to Thomas that he was to stop doubting and Believe.
(Through this Second one I am encouraged to Stop Doubting And Believe)
---------
Chris.

The Testimony of Jacob and the Testimony of Israel were established by the Lord. It is a wonderful thing to listen to a Truthful Testimony that brings Glory to God. This is the kind of Testimony that is established by the Lord. Exaggerated ‘testimonies’ are never ever Glorifying to Him.

Jesus Christ Our Example!

‘Jesus Christ Our Example.’
1 Peter 2:21-23.
a)     1 Peter 2:21. Jesus Christ suffered for us and left us an example.
b)     1 Peter 2:21. Jesus Christ expects us to follow in His Steps.
c)     1 Peter 2:21. Jesus Christ has chosen us to suffer.
d)    1 Peter 2:22-23. Jesus Christ:-
1-     Did not commit any sin.
2-    Never told a lie.
3-    Was mocked and He never replied to the mockers in a negative way.
4-    Committed Himself to God Who Judges fairly.
(This QT shows me Jesus Christ My Example)
--------
‘We Need The Holy Spirit’s Power.’
Acts 1:8.
a)     We will receive Power when the Holy Spirit comes upon us.
b)     Then we will be the Witnesses of Jesus Christ.
c)     In:-
1-     Jerusalem.
2-    Judaea.
3-    Samaria.
4-    All the Earth.
(This Second one reminds me that I Need The Holy Spirit’s Power)
--------
Chris.
Jesus Christ suffered for us and left us an example. Most of  us are frequently reminded in Church or in our Daily Devotions about Jesus Christ’s suffering. We do not hear so much about Jesus Christ being our example but that is also important.

God Is Wise And Active!

‘God Is Wise And Active.’
Isaiah 31:2.
a)     God is Wise.
b)     He knows when to bring disasters.
c)     He will not call back His Words.
d)    He will arise against the house of the evildoers.
e)     He will attack the wicked Nation.
f)       He will attack the Nation that helps those people who commit sin.
(This QT shows me that God Is Wise And Active)
-----------
‘It Is Time To Seek The Lord.’
Hosea 10:12.
a)     We are to sow Righteousness.
b)     We are to reap in Mercy and unfailing Love.
c)     It is time to break up our unploughed ground.
d)    It is time to seek the Lord.
e)     Until He comes and rains Deliverance and Righteousness on us.
(This Second one reminds me that It Is Time To Seek The Lord)
-----------
Chris.

God will attack the Nations that He sees as wicked. Sometimes wickedness in our eyes and thoughts is different to wickedness in God’s eyes and thoughts. We are simply to continue to sow Righteousness, then surely we will reap in Mercy and unfailing Love.

Jesus Loved Him!

‘Jesus Loved Him.’
Mark 10:17-22.
a)      Mark 10:17. The wealthy young man who ran to Jesus. He kneeled before Jesus – that was genuine humility.
b)      Mark 10:17. This young man then asked Jesus what he had to do so that he could have Eternal Life.
c)       Mark 10:18. Jesus answered him in an unusual way. He asked him why did he call Him good. Only God is good Jesus said.
d)      Mark 10:19. Jesus recited the Commands of God to the rich young ruler.
e)      Mark 10:20. The young man told Jesus that he had observed all those Commands since he was a boy.
f)        Mark 10:21. Jesus looked at him and loved him.
g)      Mark 10:21. Jesus told him that there was one more thing that he needed to do.
h)     Mark 10:21. He was to sell everything he had and then give the money to the poor. Then:-
1-      He would have Treasure in Heaven.
2-     He could take up his cross.
3-     He could follow Jesus.
i)        Mark 10:22. The young man was sad when he heard Jesus say that and he went away sorrowfully because he was rich.
(This QT shows me that despite everything, Jesus Loved Him)
----------
‘Freely Forgiven And Abundantly Pardoned.’
Isaiah 55:7.
a)      The Lord called on the wicked people to stop doing wrong.
b)      The Lord called on the unrighteous people to stop their evil thoughts.
c)       The Lord called these people to return to Himself.
d)      The Lord will have Mercy upon them.
e)      God will freely Forgive them and abundantly Pardon them.
(Through this Second one I thank God that I am Freely Forgiven And Abundantly Pardoned)
----------
Chris.
The rich young man was indeed a pure young man but he had false security in his wealth and belongings. I believe that what he said to Jesus was really true. He had kept all the Commandments of God as he was growing up. His deep trust, however, was not in the Lord, it was in his possessions. His misplaced trust did not prevent Jesus from loving him.

Workers Who Find Favour With God!

‘Workers Who Find Favour With God.’
1 Peter 2:18-20.
a)      1 Peter 2:18; Ephesians 6:5. They are submissive to their masters regardless of the master’s character.
b)      1 Peter 2:19. This attitude finds favour with God because even though the servant is painful, they are maintaining a pure conscience before God.
c)       1 Peter 2:20; 3:17. For what credit is there if, when you sin and are harshly treated, you endure it with patience? But if when you do what is right and suffer for it you patiently endure it, this finds favour with God.
(This QT reveals to me Workers Who Find Favour With God)
-------------------------
‘We Are Just Like Sheep.’
Isaiah 53:6.
a)      Sheep that go astray.
b)      Sheep that turn to their own way.
c)       The Lord has laid our iniquity on Jesus Christ at the Cross.
(This Second one reminds me that I Am Just Like A Sheep)
-------------------------
Chris.
Many people in these days make mistakes or even deceive other people in their workplaces. To deliberately live like that all the time is simply evil. We should never entertain thoughts and actions like that. We do, however, even as True Believers, do the things mentioned here sometimes.

Look To The Holy One Of Israel!

‘Look To The Holy One Of Israel.’
Isaiah 31:1.
a)      Woe to the people who go down to Egypt for help.
b)      They rely on horses and depend on many horses.
c)       They look to the horsemen.
d)      They do not look to the Holy One of Israel.
e)      They do not seek the Lord.
(This QT is an important call to me: Look To The Holy One Of Israel)
------------------------
‘Choose The Correct Way.’
Proverbs 14:12.
a)      There is a way.
b)      Which seems correct to a man.
c)       But eventually.
d)      It leads to death.
(This Second one calls me to Choose The Correct Way)
---------------------------
Chris.
They do not seek the Lord.  This is the common problem of people who are always seeking the help of other people. They are people dependent. When people who are supposed to be True Believers are people dependent it means that they have a poor testimony. We should be a people who seek the Lord.

Knowing And Doing What Is Correct!

‘Knowing And Doing What Is Correct.’
John 13:17.
a)     If we know what are the correct things to do.
b)    We will be Blessed and Happy.
c)     If we put them into practice.
(Through this QT I want to be Knowing And Doing What Is Correct)
-----------------------
‘They Will Not Help Us To Overcome.’
Colossians 2:23.
a)     These regulations have an appearance of Wisdom with their self-imposed:-
1-   Religious piety.
2-   False Humility.
3-   Harsh control over the human body.
b)    They have no value however.
c)     Against the gratification of the flesh.
(This Second one shows me that They Will Not Help Us To Overcome)
-----------------------
Chris.
They will not help us to overcome. There are some people whose “christianity” is made up of all kinds of laws and manifestations of religious piety. There is no emphasis on Grace, Knowing God, or the Work of the Holy Spirit in our lives or anything like that. When I meet such people, (and they are “across the board” denominationally), my sense is one of being repelled from Fellowship rather than being welcomed into it.

Good Attitudes To Have!

‘Good Attitudes To Have.’
1 Peter 2:17.
a)     Honour all men.
b)    Love the Brotherhood.
c)     Fear God.
d)    Honour the King.
(This QT teaches me Good Attitudes To Have)
---------------------
‘These Will Not Last.’
Colossians 2:22.
a)     Things that will perish.
b)    The commandments of men.
c)     The doctrines of men.
(Through this Second one I know that These Will Not Last)
---------------------
Chris.

It is correct and pleasing to God for us to have good attitudes. Even in the Churches today there are some people who do not have good attitudes. This problem will really turn people away from Church. Evangelism is of no use in such an environment. Let us have good attitudes and they can help us to have a good testimony.

The Christian Life!

'The Christian Life.' a)  Deuteronomy 7:11. Keep the Word of  God. b)  Deuteronomy  7:12. Listen to the Word of God. c)  Deuteronomy...
