‘They
Did Not Know It Was Jesus.”
Luke
7:20.
a)
These men were disciples
of John the Baptist.
b)
John the Baptist sent
them to find Jesus, they had no idea who to look for.
c)
When they found Him they
told Him that John the Baptist had sent them.
d)
John the Baptist’s first
question: Are You the One Who is to come?
e)
John the Baptist’s second
question: Do we look for someone else?
(Through this QT: They Did Not Know It Was Jesus, I am reminded
that our presentation of the Saviour sometimes is religious jargon that cannot
and will not be understood by people who do not know Jesus. Urging people to “receive
Christ” under such circumstances will never produce True Believers, we may need
a Gospel presentation rethink)
‘Desire To Be Spiritually Fruitful.’
Galatians 5:22-23.
a)
The Fruit of the Holy
Spirit is:
b)
Love.
c)
Joy.
d)
Peace.
e)
Patience.
f)
Kindness.
g)
Goodness.
h)
Faith or Faithfulness.
i)
Gentleness.
j)
Self control.
(Through this
Second one I have the Desire To Be Spiritually Fruiful)
Chris.
When the
Disciples of John the Baptist found Whom they thought to be Jesus Christ they
told Him that John the Baptist had sent them. They had questions! They had no
other way of knowing whether it was Christ or not. Today there are many people
all over the World who are “seekers”. Sometimes that word is used for a
Christian Gospel Worship Service. I am not convinced that it is good to have a “Seekers’
Service. People who are real “seekers” of the Lord need to have their questions
answered in sanctified conversation rather than be entertained in a “Christian”
environment.
