‘Chasing
The Wind.’
Ecclesiastes
2:3-11.
a) Ecclesiastes 2:3. A wealthy National Leader
desired Wisdom but he made bad decisions. He cheered himself up with too much
wine and he tried to have a good time. He thought that this would be the best
way to live on the Earth.
b) Ecclesiastes 2:4. This Leader:-
1- Accomplished great things.
2- Built himself houses.
3- Planted vineyards.
c) Ecclesiastes 2:5. He planted gardens and
orchards with all kinds of fruit trees in them.
d) Ecclesiastes 2:6. He dug ponds to irrigate his
orchards.
e) Ecclesiastes 2:7. He:-
1- Bought many slaves.
2- Had slaves born in his
household.
3- He owned more livestock
than anyone else who ever lived in the land.
f) Ecclesiastes 2:8. He:-
1- Piled up silver and gold
from all the royal treasuries he owned in the land.
2- Arranged men and women
arranged to sing and entertain him.
3- Had as many women as he
wanted.
g) Ecclesiastes 2:9. Was greater than anyone else
who ever lived in the Nation. His Wisdom never failed him.
h) Ecclesiastes 2:10. He felt that he was
rewarded:-
1- He got anything he wanted.
2- He did not deny himself
any pleasure.
3- He was proud of everything
he worked for.
i) Ecclesiastes 2:11. He then:-
1- Thought about all that he
had done.
2- Thought about how hard he
had worked for everything.
3- He realised that
everything did not mean anything.
4- It was all like chasing
the wind, no use at all.
(Through this QT I
never want to be Chasing The Wind)
‘Walking As True
Believers.’
a) Amos 3:3. We cannot walk together unless we
have agreed to meet and to do it.
b) Micah 6:8. We are to walk humbly with our God.
c) 1 John 1:7. We are to walk in the Light.
(This Second one
encourages me to Walk As A True Believer)
Chris.
Some people totally waste
their lives in working so hard for everything and being so selfish about it.
Pride can be an incorrect motive that makes us work very hard because we want
our family to be the best in every way. Some people waste their lives simply
because they have nothing better to do with their money. We should never waste
our lives.
