Chris.
There are some people, who, for much of their lives, make fear-based, faithless and fatalistic plans. This is how Jacob was, even though He was a Leader of God's People. He was appointed to be Leader and allowed to be Leader by God yet he was willing to see half of his people taken by the enemy. This helps us to understand that God gives the people the Leaders that they deserve at any particular time, it also encourages us, in these days of the Modern Church, to pray for our Leaders.
I have formerly had the privilege of serving the Lord's Church in several parts of the World. I have found that, whatever the condition of the local and National Church in any Nation, it is so important that the people pray faithfully and consistently for their Leaders.
If we are led by fear-based, faithless and fatalistic leaders then our Church, Ministry team or Mission is heading for failure in some way. We, the Church, should be the "good ground" in which the fruit or crop can grow.
Church leadership appointment and ministerial appointment is an important stewardship that God gives to His Church. The Church needs to be both Faithful and Pure before God in carrying out this task, it is not unfair to say that "people's lives are at stake"!
Individually, we need Faith to do the Will of God, and He is Faithful to give us the Faith that we need. It is the same principle for the Church, the Church needs Faith to do the Will of God and God is Faithful to give the Church the Faith that it needs.
