Ointment!



‘Ointment.’
a)  Ecclesiastes 9:8. Was used for anointing of the head.
b)  1 Chronicles 9:30. Was blended carefully.
c)  Psalm 92:10. One could be soaked in it.
d)  Revelation 3:18. Was put on the eyes to improve the eyesight.
e)  Revelation 18:13. Was often fragrant.
(Through this QT I ponder on the word Ointment and I realise that it is so little used today)

1 Corinthians 2:5.
a)  We need to learn.
b)  Our Faith does not depend on the Wisdom of people.
c)  Our Faith depends on the Power of God.
(Through this Second one I know that I Need To Learn This)

Ointment was something that was so valuable, precious and special in Bible days. Today we think nothing about it. Anointing of the head with oil brought a sense of freshness and purity for the guest after travelling through the desert. Ointment was very carefully made, it was both blended and fragrant. Ointment in the Old Testament was sometimes a type of the Holy Spirit. We should learn to appreciate the Holy Spirit in our lives more and more.
