----------
Chris.
When the family is not a happy family, even the family health suffers. There are some families where the parents are so involved in their own personal problems that their children get neglected. There are times that the children need to be taken away from their parents (temporarily or permanently) because of their parents', or single parent's, inability to care for them. I know that this is true in my country because I have been closely related to such situations in the past. Somebody else has to care for the children if they are being neglected by their parents.
These children, from broken or dysfunctional families, have needs of healing and restoration in a lovely and stable family if they are to grow up well. This is possible, but it is not easy! Social Workers have many heartaches as they attempt to help these situations. (In some countries, they do not yet have trained social workers, or enough of them. It is a needed mission field. Even where there are social workers, the levels of need can be quite alarming)
The emotional scars of children from dysfunctional families can be healed, but it takes time, patience and effort to see that healing come to pass. Sadly, not all of these children do get healed and some of them live some kind of a terrible or painful life.
I am convinced that God has always intended for all families, whichever part of the World they come from, to be basically happy. Today, with the help of God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, and good social and religious assistance if necessary, families can learn a good way to live that suits every member.
Please pray for families in your Church, district and Nation to be able to live and function well. If they do not know Christ Jesus, pray for them to come to know Him.
It is good for every local Church to arrange a "Family Seminar" annually, where guest speakers, not necessarily famous but with evidenced and wholesome family ministries can come and serve the people.
A "vision" that some youth in our Churches can be encouraged to have is to be trained as social workers. This can prepare them to serve in the domestic or international arenas
