The Attentive Boldness Of The Lord!

'The Attentive Boldness Of The Lord.'
Song of Solomon 2:9.
a)  My Beloved (The Lord Jesus)
b)  Is like a gazelle
c)  Or a young stag,
d)  Behold,
e)  There He stands
f)  Behind our wall,
g)  Gazing through the windows,
h)  Looking through the lattice.
(This QT reminds me of The Attentive Boldness Of The Lord)
PRAY: To be ready to meet the Lord Jesus Christ.
-----------
'The Spirit Of God and Of Christ.'
Romans 8:9.
a)  You, however, are not in the flesh
b)  But in the (Holy) Spirit,
c)  If in fact the Spirit of God
d)  Dwells in you. (Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 3:16)
e)  Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ
f)  Does not belong to Him.
(This Second one reminds me of the importance of knowing that The Spirit Of God And Of Christ dwells in us)
PRAY: To be filled with the Holy Spirit.
-----------
Chris.
"There He stands...". Are we ready to meet the Lord Jesus Christ when He returns? If He returns in our lifetime, He will take us to be with Himself forever. If He returns after our demise, the dead in Christ will rise first! Yes, the main point for us about Christ's return is ... are we ready to meet Him?
A different way this can be interpreted, is in another aspect of the Gospel Message. When we hear the Gospel preached, He is waiting for us to open the door of our hearts, and welcome Him into our lives to be our Lord and Saviour.

Receive!

'Receive.'
John 13:20.
a)  Truly, truly, I say to you,
b)  He who receives
c)  Whomever I send
d)  Receives Me;
e)  And he who receives Me
f)  Receives Him Who sent Me.
g)  Luke 9:48. ...whoever Receives Me, Receives Him Who sent Me.
(This QT reminds me of the Lord's counsel to us: Receive)
PRAYER: To Receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour.
----------
'Believe.'
John 3:36.
a)  The one who believes in the Son
b)  Has Eternal Life,
c)  But the one who disobeys the Son
d)  Will not see life -
e)  But the wrath of God
f)  Remains on him.
(This Second one calls on me to Believe in the Son - The Lord Jesus Christ)
PRAYER: For Faith to Believe and keep believing in the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Saviour.
----------
Chris.
The word that the Lord Jesus uses about beginning our relationship with Him and with God is the word: Believe. This is followed by the word: Receive. These simple verbs, until today, are key words about our part in the 'personal relationship' with God. To become a New Creation in Christ, or, to become a part of the Church, the Body of Christ, we need to Believe and Receive.
If we emphasize living a New Life in Christ, or have Discipleship Training, without the simple 'Believe' and 'Receive' first, we put heavy spiritual and emotional chains around people. The clear 'Believe' and 'Receive' are essentially the first steps in becoming a follower of the Lord Jesus.
We should never make it burdensome to others in our presentation of the Gospel to them, Jesus Himself never made it so. He said: "... My yoke is easy and My burden is light; you shall find rest for your souls..."
When Jesus Himself used the words: "born again", He clearly went on to explain what He meant by them.
In our Gospel sharing, our Message should be:
1-Prayerfully presented.
2-Easy for anyone to understand.
3-Anointed by the Holy Spirit.
4-Shared with Love and Compassion.
5-Not judgmental or seemingly angry.
6-Following the example and style set by the Lord Jesus Himself.
7-Always inclusive.
8-Never exclusive.

An Honourable Tradition!

'An Honourable Tradition.'
Genesis 32:32.
a)  To this day
b)  The Children of Israel
c)  Do not eat the muscle that shrank,
d)  Which is on the hip socket,
e)  Because He touched the socket of Jacob's hip
f)  In the muscle that shrank.
(This QT teaches me about An Honourable Tradition)
PRAY: To respect, and not despise, other people's Honourable Traditions.
---------
'We Can Be Made Right With God.'
2 Corinthians 5:21.
a)  Christ didn't have any sin.
b)  But God made Him become sin for us.
c)  So we can be made right with God
d)  Because of what Christ has done for us.
(Through this Second one I rejoice because We Can Be Made Right With God)
PRAYER: To Believe in what Christ has done for us.
---------
Chris.
There are some Jewish Old Testament traditions that are kept, even until today. This is an important lesson for us to learn. We should never despise another person's religious beliefs. The Lord has given me the privilege of visiting several countries, around 17-20, all over the World. I have met and shared time and food with many different peoples from many different religious backgrounds. This has been a Blessed experience for me.
God's Love and His Gospel is far greater than any differences that we may discover. We should respect other people and their cultures and not judge and find fault with them. The Message of the Gospel is that God so loved, and still loves, the people of this World, that He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, to die as the Sacrifice for our sins. Whoever Believes in Him shall not perish, but have Everlasting Life.
If Christ came into this World to save and not to destroy, we should have this mind also as we meet and take time with non-believing peoples. Sometimes our "Christian" words can be so judgmental and destructive.

The Enthusiasm Of The Coming Beloved One!

'The Enthusiasm Of The Coming Beloved One.'
Song of Solomon 2:8.
(A picture of the coming Christ.)
a)  Listen!
b)  My Beloved!
c)  Look!
d)  Here He comes,
e)  Leaping across the mountains,
f)  Bounding over the hills.
(This QT reveals The Enthusiasm Of The Coming Beloved One)
PRAY: To be ready to meet the Lord Jesus Christ.
--------
'The Way Of Love.'
Ephesians 5:2.
a)  Live a life filled with love,
b)  Following the example of Christ.
c)  He loved us
d)  And offered Himself a Sacrifice for us,
e)  A Pleasing Aroma to God.
(Through this Second one I discover The Way Of Love)
PRAY: To be able to follow The Way Of Love.
--------
Chris.
The Bible tells us to be ready for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. This statement is not meant to harbor fanaticism, it is simply telling us to be ready. Being ready is a personal thing and not an environmental thing. There are some communities and individuals that are doing many strange things things "to be ready", this was never the Lord's intention. His intention is that in our inner man and in our daily life we are ready to meet with Him. Physically we live in the World System but spiritually and in the reality of our daily lives, we live in victory over it. Jesus spoke about our lives shining like bright lights in a dark world. Really, honestly and truthfully we do not know when our Lord Jesus Christ is coming again, simply put == we are to be ready.

Christ Knows The Future!

'Christ Knows The Future.'
John 13:19.
a)  "I am telling you now
b)  "Before it happens,
c)  So that when it does happen
d)  You will believe
e)  That I Am Who I Am.
(This QT reminds me that Christ Knows The Future)
PRAY: To Trust God for our future.
-------
'God's Law Reveals His Righteousness.'
Isaiah 42:21.
a)  The Lord was pleased,
b)  For His Righteousness' sake,
c)  To magnify His Law
d)  And make it Glorious.
(Through this Second one I affirm that God's Law Reveals His Righteousness)
PRAY: For Grace to obey God's Word as and when He Reveals its understanding to us.
-------
Chris.
There are some rare and unusual times when God tells us about something that is going to happen before it happens. As we read the Scriptures we can see how rare this kind of experience honestly is. This is a part of the Holy Spirit's Gift "the Word of Knowledge".
This is definitely NOT fortune telling, or anything like it. This Gift does not bring any 'glory' to a person, but only Glory to God.
We should not consider seeking servants of the Lord about our future, as if they are some kind of fortune-teller. This is sin! (Sin of both the 'seeker' and the 'teller'.) We need to have Faith in God and His Word and to learn Obedience primarily to God's Word and Leading in our lives.
To receive counsel from godly Christian Leaders that we trust can help us when we need it (but should not control us or our decisions). Most of all, we should be led by the Word of God and then the Spirit of God.
During my times of serving in "Mission", I was grateful to be able to ask godly Christian Leaders for advice and counsel when I needed it. There were very few people I met with a 'gift' of false prophecy, like fortune-telling, there was a clear indication that these people had a problem with the desire to control others. I did not and I could not trust, or submit myself to, such people.

Limping!

'Limping.'
a)  Genesis 32:31. Jacob was limping because of his encounter with God.
b)  1 Kings 18:21. The Israelites were limping between two opinions about God.
c)  1 Kings 18:26. The Baal worshippers were limping around the altar that they had made, they were so tired. Half the day they had been dancing around their altar, trying to make Baal answer their petitions.
(This QT stimulates me to Pray for all people who may be limping mentally or physically today. May God Comfort and Help them)
PRAYER: For those people in your family, Church, or amongst your friends, that are limping physically, spiritually or mentally.
------
'The Atoning Sacrifice That We Really Need.'
a)  1 John 2:1-2. Jesus Christ, the Atoning Sacrifice for our sins.
b)  1 John 4:10. Because of the Love of God, He sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to be the propitiation for our sins.
c)  Romans 3:25. God put forth His Son, Jesus Christ, Whom we are to receive by Faith.
d)  Colossians 1:20. ...through Christ, to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on Earth or in Heaven, making Peace by the Blood of His Cross.
(Through this Second one I find The Atoning Sacrifice That I Really Need)
PRAYER: To Believe in Jesus Christ, our Atoning Sacrifice.
------
Chris.
Living life under the World system, without Jesus Christ, makes a person so tired. There is normally a daily "chase" for provision and fulfillment, which is never ending. For some people, even in retirement, the pressure is still on. There really has to be another way of life, this "other" way is found in Jesus Christ, knowing and living for Him as our Lord and Saviour.
This alternative way of life is not just found in Church attendance, it is primarily found in a personal relationship with God through Bible Reading and Prayer. Attending the good Church is beneficial for our relationship with God, we can grow well in a spiritually "healthy" Church.
The Church, however, should not be a place where we are dominated, controlled, or put to sleep, it should the place where we can find, Bible Teaching, Fellowship and a place of mutual, effective and strengthening Prayer.

A Pledge!

'A Pledge.'
a)  Hebrews 7:20. Was made at the time of the description of the Ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ.
b)  Deuteronomy 6:13. The Old Testament Priests were to:
1-Revere the Lord.
2-Serve the Lord.
3-Take solemn pledges in His Name.
c)  Exodus 22:26. If ever you take your neighbor's garment as a pledge, you shall return it to him before the sun goes down.
d)  Deuteronomy 24:10-13. We should be compassionate when another person has made a pledge to return what they owe us.
e)  Job 22:6. We should not take pledges for no reason.
f)  Proverbs 6:1-3. It takes a humble act to resolve the matter when we cannot keep our part of a pledge.
g)  Proverbs 17:18. A man devoid of understanding shakes hands in a pledge.
(This QT concerns with the correct attitude towards A Pledge)
PRAY: To resolve any Pledges in our lives as yet properly dealt with.
-----
Two Important Questions For Us.'
1 Corinthians 6:19.
a)  Do you not know
b)  That your body
c)  Is the Temple of the Holy Spirit
d)  Who is in you?
e)  Whom you have from God
f)  And you do not belong to yourselves?
(This Second one reveals Two Important Questions for me and for us all)
PRAY: To respond well to these two questions: Don't you know that your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit? Don't you know that you do not belong to yourself?
-----
Chris.
We need to keep our attitude to handling money correctly. It does not matter whether we are wealthy of not, the Bible clearly teaches us in both the Old and New Testaments about how we should handle money. It is good to handle money with the Fear of the Lord and with a pure and generous heart, then we will do well. To be mean is not a Fruit of the Holy Spirit; to manipulate other people with our money is not God's Way!

Christ Knows Whom He Has Chosen!

'Christ Knows Whom He Has Chosen.'
John 13:18.
a)  "I am not talking about all of you.
b)  "I know the ones I have chosen.
c)  "But what the Scriptures say must come true.
d)  "And they say:
e)  " 'The man who ate with Me turned against Me.' '' (Psalm 41:9; Matthew 26:21)
(This QT reminds me that Christ Knows Whom He Has Chosen)
PRAYER: To Trust God that He knows and knows about everyone.
----
'Redemption For Paul And The Jewish People.'
Galatians 4:5.
a)  (God sent Jesus Christ)
b)  To redeem those people who were under the Law
c)  So that we (they) may receive
d)  Adoption as sons.
(This Second one confirms that there can be Redemption For Paul And The Jewish People)
PRAYER: For Jewish people to become Believers in Jesus Christ)
----
Chris.
When we read the Words of Jesus Christ in the Gospels we can see that there are definite times that Jesus talks to certain kinds of people. He called and taught His Disciples; He addressed hypocrites; He spoke to the crowd; He challenged errant leadership; He spoke Holy Spirit Gift words of Knowledge and Wisdom; He also taught with Words of Blessing. We should heed the Words of Jesus written in the Gospels.
Bible Reading is a must for spiritual growth. The more we read it, the more we will understand it - that means the more we will enjoy it. I am so glad that in the early stages of my "walk with the Lord", I had, and was exposed to, excellent Bible Teachers.
I continue to take the time to listen to and read Biblcal Bible Teaching resources as much as I possibly can.

Peniel (2)!

'Peniel (2).' (Peniel is important - it is mentioned in QT twice)
Genesis 32:30.
a)  Jacob named the place Peniel
b)  (Which means: "The Face of God.")
c)  For he said,
d)  "I have seen God Face to face,
e)  "Yet my life has been spared."
(Through this QT, I am in awe of the place Peniel)
PRAY: For a Peniel experience of God, a personal encounter with Him.
---
'Only The Blood Of Jesus Christ.'
1 Peter 1:18-19.
a)  For you know
b)  That God paid a ransom to Save you
c)  From the empty life
d)  You inherited from your ancestors.
e)  And the ransom He paid
f)  Was not mere gold or silver.
g)  It was the precious Blood of Jesus Christ,
h)  The sinless and spotless Lamb of God.
(This Second one keeps my focus correct: Only The Blood Of Jesus Christ)
PRAY: For Grace, so that we can esteem Only The Blood Of Jesus Christ first.
---
Chris.
Peniel is the place of encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. Before we can mature as a Believer, or begin to serve the Lord, we must have had a "Peniel" experience. Trying to serve the Lord without having encountered Him is mere religion. The Gospel ministry of the Church within the Church needs to be centered on the "Peniel" experience.
All other ministries, such as Healing, Deliverance and Discipleship can follow the message of "Peniel", but "Peniel" needs to come first. It's great to have a cup of tea after the Worship or Gospel Service (as in the picture above), but the emphasis needs to be Peniel.
This is the same for the Mission field, there are some great works been done on the Mission field but the goal is to present a "Peniel" experience as the first fruit and result of these mission works.

Peniel!

'Peniel'
Genesis 32:30.
a)  So Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: (Peniel means Face of God!)
b)  "For I have seen God
c)  "Face to face
d)  "And my life is preserved."
(Through this QT (Peniel), I desire a closer relationship with God)
PRAY: For a closer walk with God and a "Peniel" experience.
---
'The Righteousness Of God.'
a)  Romans 3:22. Is the portion of all those people who Believe.
b)  Romans 10:3. Needs to be submitted to.
c)  2 Corinthians 5:21. We can become the Righteousness of God in Christ.
d)  James 1:20. Is not produced by the wrath of man.
e)  Psalm 24:5. Can be received from the God of our Salvation.
f)  Psalm 48:10. God's Right Hand is full of Righteousness.
g)  Psalm 51:14. Can be sung about.
h)  Psalm 71:16. Can be made mention of.
i)  Matthew 6:33. Is to be sought after.
j)  1 Corinthians 1:30. Is found in Christ.
(This Second one gives me the Hope that I may live with The Righteousness Of God)
PRAY: To live free from the environment of the wrath of man.
---
Chris.
The Righteousness of God is manifested in the Glory of God. At the beginning, God said: 'Let there be Light'. and then Light was created and manifested. There is no darkness in the Glory of God.
When God's People are living in and for His Glory, their lives shall be like shining lights. They also will love the Light of God, in their lives will be no darkness at all. When God's People are living in and for His Glory, Church becomes an attractive place to be in. The Worship of the Church becomes pure and anointed, a joyful experience! When God's People are living in and for His Glory, they become 'relationship makers' not 'relationship breakers'!
The Bible teaches us that the common ground between Believers is language, not race. At the time of the initial out-pouring of the Holy Spirit, the focus was on languages and many different peoples Praising God.
When a Church becomes racially focussed and based, the Anointing of the Holy Spirit leaves, something goes wrong! Of necessity, in many towns and cities world-wide, there needs to be Worship Services to accommodate multi-lingual environments.
In the Western World, racialism is the major enemy of the Church. In many Churches Caucasians rule, not Jesus! Anyone who is not Caucasian is seen as "foreign" and treated as an outsider. I have seen this with my own eyes, and then cried, or been angry inside. Most of the Churches I that attended throughout my times in UK I found to be racialist. I can honestly say that in all my experience of the Church in Asia, where I lived for years, I never found any racialism at all. (This could be one of the reasons that the Western Church is either dying or becoming functionally strange!)

The Right Attitude For A Bridegroom!

'The Right Attitude For A Bridegroom.'
Song of Solomon 6:9.
a)  He sees his bride as the:
1-Perfect one.
2-Only one.
3-Pure.
b)  Accepts the Blessings of other sisters given to her.
c)  He is open to all classes of people to attend his wedding.
(This QT teaches me something about The Right Attitude For A Bridegroom)
PRAY: For the beautiful, lovely and righteous weddings for God's People.
---------
'Believing In Christ Is Important.'
Romans 10:4.
a)  Christ has completed the Law.
b)  So now,
c)  Everyone who Believes
d)  Can be right with God.
(Through this Second one I understand that Believing In Christ Is Important)
PRAY: To affirm our Belief in Christ.
---------
Chris.
It is important, for the sake of God's Glory, and also for the future life of a husband and wife together, how the bridegroom sees his bride before, during and after their wedding ceremony. One of the causes of marriage problems today has nothing to do with the 'regular' marriage counseling sessions, it has to do with attitudes, mostly hidden attitudes, at the time of preparation for marriage. Dealing with hidden and wrong attitudes is just as important as marriage counseling!
Some people are already heading for a disastrous marriage simply because of wrong attitudes before marriage.
Some of these wrong attitudes are:
Cynicism.
Habitual criticism. (Especially when the husband, in his secret heart, unfavorably compares his wife to his mother!)
Competitiveness.
'Couldn't care less.' (Irresponsibility)
These kind of attitudes (sinful attitudes), need to be repented of and dealt with before the marriage goes ahead, not afterwards.

When The Blessing Comes!

'When The Blessing Comes.'
John 13:17.
a)  Now that you know these things,
b)  You will be Blessed
c)   If you do them.
(This QT teaches me that the Blessing comes with the doing. The picture here makes me very thankful for Jesus Christ our Sacrifice. In Old Testament days, the Blessing of God came through sacrificing animals like this!)
PRAYER: For our active and obedient Faith.
--------
'Made Right With God.'
Romans 3:25-26.
a)  For God presented Jesus as the Sacrifice for sin.
b)  People are made right with God
c)  When they Believe that
d)  Jesus sacrificed His Life,
e)  Shedding His Blood.
f)  This sacrifice shows that God was being fair
g)  When He held back
h)  And did not punish those who sinned
i)  In times past,
j)  For He was looking ahead
k)  And including them
l)  In what He would do
m)  In this present time.
n)  God did this to demonstrate His Righteousness,
o)  For He Himself is fair and just,
p)  And He declares sinners to be right in His Sight
q)  When they Believe in Jesus.
(This Second one, Made Right With God, reveals to me that God is always fair, even though sometimes we do not understand His Ways and Decisions)
PRAYER: Thanksgiving for all that God has given to us through Jesus Christ.
--------
Chris.
The Blood of Christ has been shed for us. This is the ultimate Sacrifice, Christ died for our sins! Because of this fact, not only do we receive the forgiveness of our sins, but we can be healed and restored through and by Him. For the True Believer, this is one of the most powerful statements that can be made: "Christ died for my sins". The Message of the Gospel does not center upon the Church, it centers upon the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. Church attendance is good, proper and right, but, most important is our answer to the question: "Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour?"

Simply Receive The Blessing!

'Simply Receive The Blessing.'
Genesis 32:29.
a)  Jacob, responding to the "Man"
b)  Asked Him His Name.
c)  The "Man" replied:
d)  "Why is it you ask My Name?"
e)  And there He Blessed him.
(This QT reveals God's Heart to Bless: 'Simply Receive The Blessing.')
PRAYER: To be able to receive simply from God and not question or doubt Him.
-------
'Imputed Righteousness.'
Romans 4:24.
a)  But for us also,
b)  To whom Righteousness shall be imputed,
c)  If we Believe on Him
d)  That raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead.
(Through this Second one I thank God for Imputed Righteousness)
PRAYER: For Faith to Believe what God's Word says.
-------
Chris.
Jacob, at this time, did not recognise the "man" as an Angel or as the Lord, he simply asked Him: "What is your Name?". There may be times in our Life of Faith that the Lord Himself intervenes in some way, yet we do not recognise Him. This kind of Divine intervention is really uncommon and is usually something that the Lord wants to be intensely personal between Himself and the person with whom He meets!
I do enjoy reading practical testimonies of how God works in various ministries and situations, there are some tremendous and awesome "true stories", and also lessons to learn! Usually, I can tell the "spirit" in which something is written. If something is written in a competitive or sensational way, I cannot complete the reading of it.
The true and real story is "God's Story" and we can enjoy it and learn from it.

Pure And Undefiled Love!

'Pure And Undefiled Love.'
Song Of Solomon 6:9.
a)  My dove,
b)  My perfect one,
c)  Is the only one,
d)  The only one of her mother,
e)  Pure to her who bore her.
f)  The young women saw her
g)  And called her Blessed;
h)  The queens and concubines also,
i)  And they praised her.
(This QT reveals human beings' Pure And Undefiled Love)
PRAY: For truly Christian marriages to be founded on Pure And Undefiled Love.
------
'Abraham's Pure Faith.'
Romans 4:3.
a)  For what does the Scripture say?
b)  Abraham believed God,
c)  And it was credited to him
d)  For Righteousness.
(This Second one reminds me about Abraham's Pure Faith)
PRAY: For our Faith.
------
Chris
Here is the love of the male for an only daughter. (This Scripture is sometimes interpreted as Christ's Love for His Church). As it is written we can simply see the love of a man for someone's only daughter. As we read the Book of Song of Solomon, we can see that this love is very pure and wholesome. This Book is also taught by some as the Love of Christ for His Church. There is however, more meaning than that. We can base teaching on "preparation for a good marriage" on this book too! Marriage preparation can and should be taught both practically and spiritually. In some Churches there are excellent seminars about this subject, sincerely prepared, seminars for brothers, seminars for sisters and seminars for couples. In these Churches, only couples who attend the seminars can be married in the Church. I really think that a good preparation for Christian marriage is built here. Where such seminars cannot be held, then there should be marriage discipleship sessions for the couple getting married, held by the Pastor who is going to officiate at the ceremony for them.
To just use or hire the Church building for a "Christian" wedding, is not really the way of God, or what God wants. The Church should be a place of Testimony, where the non-believers can see the reality of the Kingdom of God!

Servants, Messengers And Masters!

'Servants, Messengers And Masters.'
John 13:16.
a)  I tell you for certain
b)  That servants
c)  Are not greater
d)  Than their master,
d)  And messengers
e)  Are not greater
f)  Than the one who sent them.
(This QT teaches me about working environment relationships)
PRAY: For the amicable solution to work-place conflicts between management and employees at any work place environments that may affect you.
-----
'Being Declared Righteous.'
Romans 4:6.
a)  David also spoke of this
b)  When he described the happiness
c)  Of those people
d)  Who are declared Righteous
e)  Without working for it.
(Through this Second one I understand the Blessing of Being Declared Righteous)
PRAY: For the hearts of your Church members to understand this Bible Truth: Being Made Righteous.
-----
Chris.
Humility needs to be the "hall-mark" of every True Believer! This is important in every part of our lives: Church, home, workplace, school, college, or wherever. The teaching that "all people are equal", in a family, workplace environment, or school is not a Biblical concept.
The Bible clearly teaches about "authority structures". In order for our environment to function well, these need to be humbly and well kept.
We need to pray for our leaders in home, living environment, school, Church and work-place. This particular prayer is Biblically enjoined and it is also important.
The Power of the Gospel and the Working of the Holy Spirit are greater than the power of workplace conflict. Both sides involved in any such conflict need to realise this and head in the direction of conflict resolution, rather than the other way.

A New Name From God!

'A New Name From God.'
Genesis 32:28.
a)  The Angel (the Messenger of the Lord) said:
b)  "Your name will no longer be called Jacob,
c)  "But Israel;
d)  "For you have striven with God and with men,
e)  "And you have prevailed."
(This QT teaches me how Jacob received A New Name From God)
PRAY: For eagerness to seek God as Jacob did.
----
'What Really Matters.'
Galatians 5:6.
a)  For in Christ Jesus
b)  Neither circumcision
c)  Nor uncircumcision
d)  Accomplishes anything;
e)  What matters is Faith working through Love.
(Through this Second one I see What Really Matters)
PRAY: For our personal Faith to be working through Love.
----
Chris.
There are many Bible commentators who Believe, and I can agree to their opinion, that when the Bible records in the Old Testament referring to the "Angel of the Lord", that could well be an Old Testament manifestation of the Lord Jesus Christ, especially when there is no given name to the Angel. I can certainly believe these Biblical incidences of Angelic appearances.
There are Angels in Heaven, the Bible tells us that, and, by God's Grace, I look forward to seeing the Angels in Heaven one day.

'Three Things That The Psalmist Did Not Want.'

Chris.
The Psalmist reveals to us understandable fears, these fears are different from irrational fears. Irrational fears are there when there is no reason to fear, they can be in our lives for too many reasons to be listed here. The Bible tells us that "fear torments us" and I think that irrational fears certainly do that. Understandable fears make us cautious, and yet able to Believe the many promises of God's Word that help us to overcome them (here are just a few of these promises):
1 John 4:18. In Love there is no fear.
Psalm 34:4. I sought the Lord, He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.
Genesis 15:1. Fear not Abraham, I am your Shield and Exceedingly Great Reward.
Genesis 21:17. Fear not, for God has heard....
Genesis 46:3. ...fear not to go...
Exodus 9:30. ...fear the Presence of the Lord God.
Numbers 14:9. ...do not fear the people of the Land...
Deuteronomy 20:3 ...let not your hearts faint, fear not...
Psalm 23:4. ...I will fear no evil, for you are with me,...
Isaiah 7:4. ...take heed to be quiet, do not fear...
Isaiah 41:13. I am the Lord thy God that holds thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not, I will help thee.
Isaiah 43:1. ...Do not fear, for I have redeemed thee, I have named thee, thou art Mine.
Isaiah 51:7. ...Do not fear the reproach of men...
Luke 8:50. ...Fear not, only Believe...
Acts 27:24. ...fear not Paul...
2 Timothy 1:7. ...God has not given to us the spirit of fear...

Chris.
Most of those people who read this QT will acknowledge that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior, that is both good and Biblical. Not all of these people, however will acknowledge Christ as their Example, that is very sad. Jesus told His Disciples whilst He walked upon the Earth, that He was setting them an Example to follow. Generally, today, the Example of Jesus has been neglected or forgotten. Most Church, Christian Marriage and Christian Friendship/Relationship problems occur because we have forgotten the Example set us by our Lord Jesus Christ. Maybe it is time to remind ourselves of this Example?

The Christian Life!
