Peter Re-Called

‘Peter Re-Called.’
John 21:1-17.
a) John 21:1. This entire incident was at the initiative of Jesus Who revealed Himself again to His Disciples at the Sea of Tiberias.
b) John 21:2. The Disciple group were there at the seaside.
c) John 21:3. Peter wanted to go out fishing so they all went out fishing.
d) John 21:4. Morning was already breaking when Jesus came to the beach and stood there. However, the Disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
e) John 21:5. The Disciples had not yet recognised Jesus, yet He called out, “Fellows, have you caught any fish?” “No,” they replied.
f) John 21:6. Then Jesus said, “Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some!” So they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.
g) John 21:7. Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his tunic (for he had stripped for work), jumped into the water, and headed to shore. Notice that Peter took the initiative to head to shore and therefore head towards the Lord.
h) John 21: 8. The other Disciples stayed in the boat and together with their heavy catch of fish pulled it to shore.
i) John 21:9. Jesus had already been cooking breakfast for them.
j) John 21:10. Jesus wanted to cook more fish from the catch.
k) John 21:11. There were 153 large fish in the net. This was Peter’s first act of Obedience in his life Restoration process, simply obeying the Lord and bringing the fish to Him. Are we willing to obey the Lord in small things?
l) John 21:12-14. Jesus served all the Disciples breakfast. They all knew His identity by then.
m) John 21:15-17. Jesus re-called Peter by:-
1- Questioning his love.
2- Hearing Peter’s response.
3- Commissioning him to feed and take care of His sheep and lambs.

‘Getting Our Priorities Right.’
Acts 1:1-11.
a) Acts 1:1-2. It is right to read the Gospels and respond to what Jesus did and taught.
b) Acts 1:2. Special messengers of God need to be instructed and to learn to obey the Lord’s commands before they serve. Three and a half years is the minimum training period.
c) Acts 1:3. We need to have confidence in the Resurrected Christ.
d) Acts 1:4-5. Jesus taught them about and told them to stay in Jerusalem to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Here is an important priority.
e) Acts 1:6-7. The study of Biblical dates and times, and of modern day prophecies about Israel were and are insignificancies. Only the Father knows everything about the end times. Let us live ready for those end times.
f) Acts 1:8. What the Disciples really needed was to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that they could become witnesses.
g) Acts 1:9-11. The Disciples were gazing at the Ascension of Jesus Christ. But the Angels helped them to get their gaze off and to be ready rather for the Second Coming of Christ.

Chris.
For every Christian worker, of whatever type the Training Period for their ministry is a very important time. Firstly, we should always be learning, not just during our Training Period, as we humbly walk with the Lord we should always be learning. Secondly, as we are going through arranged Training Periods in our lives, whether in Seminary, Church or some other training course, we need to go through those Training Periods with a teachable attitude.
