Do Not Babble!


‘Do Not Babble.’
The meaning of babbling:
1. to talk in a quick, foolish, or muddled way
2. to make meaningless sounds:
3. to disclose secrets carelessly
4. Literary (of streams) to make a low murmuring sound
Noun
1. muddled or foolish speech
2. a murmuring sound [probably imitative]

a) Proverbs 10:14. The babbling of a fool invites disaster.
b) Proverbs 10:8. Babbling fools fall flat on their faces.
c) Job 11:3. People who babble on mocking God need to be silenced.
d) Matthew 6:7. When you pray, do not babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again.
e) Acts 17:18. Apostle Paul was falsely accused of being a babbler.

‘It Was Not Allowed.’
a) Esther 4:2. To go in through the gates of the king’s palace wearing clothes of mourning.
b) Joshua 6:1. To go in and out of the gates of Jericho which were firmly shut for fear of the Israelites.
c) Genesis 3:3. To eat from the tree in the middle of the Garden of Eden.
d) Genesis 31:7. By God for Laban to harm Jacob.
e) Exodus 21:8. It was not allowed by God for a man to sell his daughter as a slave to a foreigner.
f) Leviticus 22:10. For anyone outside of the priests’ families to eat of the sacred offerings.
g) Leviticus 25:20. To plant or harvest crops during the Sabbath year.
h) Numbers 6:4. For a Nazarite to eat or drink anything that comes from a grapevine.
i) 1 Kings 13:16. To eat or drink when God says not to.
j) 2 Kings 23:9. For priests who had formerly served at pagan altars to serve at the Lord’s Altar in Jerusalem.

A man was not allowed for a man to sell his daughter as a slave to a foreigner. In many countries this habit continues until today. It is a social evil that needs to be addressed and wiped out ….human trafficking. It can be for many uses, factories, prostitution, as slave wives and for other reasons too. Let us pray for and work for the eradication of human trafficking.
