God’s Hand On The Baby!
‘God’s Hand On The Baby.’
Exodus 2:1-10.
God loves and God gives children. From this QT we can see the special way in which God had His Hand on Moses.
a) Exodus 2:1-2; Hebrews 11:23. It seemed that this baby was being born out of time. Pharaoh, Egypt’s ruler had decided that all baby boys born to the Israelis should be killed. However in this Levite family the mother had Faith to hide her baby.
b) Exodus 2:3. When the mother could no longer hide him, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with asphalt and pitch. She placed the child in it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile.
c) Exodus 2:4. The baby’s sister stood at a distance to watch the baby in the basket and see what would happen to him.
d) Exodus 2:5. Pharaoh's daughter went down to bathe at the Nile while her servant girls walked along the riverbank. Seeing the basket among the reeds, she sent her slave girl to get it.
e) Exodus 2:6. When she opened it, she saw the child—a little boy, crying. She felt sorry for him and said, "This is one of the Hebrew boys."
f) Exodus 2:7. Here was great Wisdom from the sister of the little baby. She asked Pharaoh’s daughter if she should get an Israeli woman to care for the baby.
g) Exodus 2:8-9. "Go." Pharaoh's daughter told her. So the girl went and called the boy's mother. Then Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this child and nurse him for me, and I will pay your wages." So the woman took the boy and nursed him. This was amazing Grace, the baby’s mother was being paid a salary to nurse her own baby.
h) Exodus 2:10. When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, "Because," she said, "I drew him out of the water."
(Through this true Bible story I can see God’s Hand On The Baby, and His Plan being unfolded for His People in their very difficult times)
------------------

e) 1 Samuel 30:21. Is something easily recovered from.
f) 2 Samuel 16:14. If we are suffering from it – take a rest.

k) Ecclesiastes 10:15. Foolishness can cause it.
l) Jeremiah 12:13. The Lord’s burning anger may cause it.
(This Second one shows me that Exhaustion can be resolved)
------------------
Chris.
Verbal abuse is something that is very wearisome to encounter or to live, work with or study under. Unlike some other forms of abuse it shows no mark on our body but it puts a big mark and wound into our heart. All kinds of dysfunctional behaviour come because of verbal abuse. If anyone reading this is going through verbal abuse please do not be afraid to get help. If anyone reading this is still suffering from the emotional scars caused by verbal abuse please come to God with it first and, if necessary seek help and prayer together with someone you trust.

e) 1 Timothy 3:6. An elder must not be a new Believer, because he might become proud, and the devil would cause him to fall.
f) Titus 1:6-7. Must:-
1- Live a blameless life.
2- Be faithful to his wife.
3- Have children who are Believers and who do not have a reputation for being wild or rebellious.
4- Not be arrogant.
5- Not be quick tempered.
6- Not be a heavy drinker.
7- Not be violent.
8- Not be dishonest with money.
(This Second one shows me the responsibilities of being An Elder)
------------------------------------------
Chris.
It is not according to the Scripture to make a new Believer an Elder. Too much responsibility in the Church can cause a new Believer to become proud, this can have devastating results for the person concerned and the Church. Also too much responsibility for the new Believer can give that person the wrong concept of what Church is meant to be.

a) Ephesians 6:1. It is Righteous for children to obey their parents if their parents are True Believers.
b) Ephesians 6:2. It is right for children to honour their father and mother, whether they are Believers or not. Children honour your parents and respect them.

d) Ephesians 6:4. Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
(This Second one shows me clearly what the Bible says about Children And Parents)
------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
Fathers are key figures in every society. So much God given responsibility lies with fathers. It is the father’s responsibility to care for and provide financially for his family. It is the father’s responsibility to be the spiritual head and guide of his family. The way a father treats his children is given an example by the Love and Word of God. When fathers and children are in conflict a dysfunctional family is the result if the conflict is not resolved.
For Married Couples!
‘For Married Couples.’
Ephesians 5:22-33.
This is Biblical teaching that fits every culture if the culture will receive it.

g) Ephesians 5:28. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself.
h) Ephesians 5:29. No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the Church.
i) Ephesians 5:30. We are all, if we are True Believers, members of the Body of Christ.
j) Ephesians 5:31. A Scriptural marriage foundation:-

i) Luke 2:52. Jesus increased in Wisom and in stature and in favour with God and man.
(This Second one teaches me about The Human Growing Of Jesus)
-----------------------------------------
Chris.
We live in days where Believing young people are often encouraged to “do something for God”. There are some churches and missions that are breakers of families, even good Believing families, because of their teaching to young people that is in direct contradiction to the Word of God. The family unit was created by God and church or mission should honour and recognise that fact.

--------------
Chris.
Seasons of Prayer and Seeking the Lord are meant to be special times in our lives. It can be a Church event, some kind of a call to Prayer. It can be, as Jesus taught, a very private time that no one else knows about. It can also be a family time, when through mutual agreement a husband and wife or mother and father seek the Lord together.

-------------

d) The Lord would repay what she had done.
e) The Lord God of Israel would give her a full reward.
f) She had come to the Lord for refuge.
(This Second one shows me Ruth’s Real Refuge)
------------
Chris.
Emigration is very common today but it is not a modern phenomenon. People were emigrating frequently in Bible Days. To emigrate is really to start a new chapter of one’s life and one’s family life. Emigration is sometimes something that God calls people to do. If God is calling us to emigrate, let us not be afraid but Trust and Obey God.

Principles In Christian Service!
‘Principles In Christian Service.’
Romans 15:17-20.
a) Romans 15:17. We should be enthusiastic about what Christ Jesus has done through us – not what we have done.
b) Romans 15:18. We should:-
1- Never be boastful.
2- Realise that it is Christ Who works through us.
3- Bring non-believers to God through our message.
4- Work as ministers amongst non-believers.
c) Romans 15:19. Seek God for the Power of the Holy Spirit.
d) Romans 15:19. Fully present the Good News of Christ.

d) God will show us which path to take.
(This Second one shows me Simple Faith in Action)
-----------
Chris.
To respond to the Word of God is a very important part of the life of the True Believer. Responding to the Word of God is another way of saying that we are being obedient to God. God is to be Worshipped in our lives. God is to be Glorified in our lives. God is to be responded to from His Word by our lives.

Be Righteous!
‘Be Righteous.’

-----------------------------------
Chris.
People need God and His Word. The Word we read today is very clear and simple. In Christ we should live as Righteous People who speak well and edify other people with our speech. People who say that they live in the Light of God should live in the Light of God. Believing People need to cast off the works of darkness and put on the Armour of Light. Believing People should live a New Life in Jesus Christ and entertain their old self no more.

Encourage Other Believers With These Words!

(Through this Second one I find Faith For A Move As A Believing Family)
----------
Chris.
In some Nations, especially those who have a non Christian background, people who are called “Christians” never recover from grief. The grief that they carry makes them bitter, angry and depressed. As True Believers in Jesus we do not have to be like that. Yes, we grieve and mourn for the loss of a loved one, a Believer, it is a process we should healthily go through. We also have hope that together with them, we are going to be with the Lord forever and their death is only a temporary separation.

--------------------------------------------------------

c) Matthew 24:38. People will be living with Godless priorities.

g) Matthew 24:43. If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would keep watch and not permit his house to be broken into.
h) Matthew 24:44. We also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.
(This second one reminds me to Just Keep A Watch)
--------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
Elderly parents are not meant to be a pain or embarrassment for their children but, rather, a Joy. The Bible teaches younger widows that one of their most important responsibilities is to look after their elderly parents in a most fitting way, in other words, what is best for them. Please notice this is a very special ministry of young widows.

How To Be Sensible!

f) 1 John 3:3. Keep themselves pure.
(This Second One shows me what to expect As God’s Children)
-----------------------------------------------
Chris.
Hiding hatred makes one a liar. There are many liars in Churches today. People who hide hatred rather than resolve conflicts cause so much difficulty and darkness to be there. It is mature and Biblical to resolve conflicts, every conflict resolved in the best way possible, making wise decisions. This means that our hearts are kept clean and surely this is very important for Churches
Peter Re-Called
‘Peter Re-Called.’
John 21:1-17.
a) John 21:1. This entire incident was at the initiative of Jesus Who revealed Himself again to His Disciples at the Sea of Tiberias.
b) John 21:2. The Disciple group were there at the seaside.
c) John 21:3. Peter wanted to go out fishing so they all went out fishing.
d) John 21:4. Morning was already breaking when Jesus came to the beach and stood there. However, the Disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
e) John 21:5. The Disciples had not yet recognised Jesus, yet He called out, “Fellows, have you caught any fish?” “No,” they replied.
f) John 21:6. Then Jesus said, “Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some!” So they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.
g) John 21:7. Then the disciple Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his tunic (for he had stripped for work), jumped into the water, and headed to shore. Notice that Peter took the initiative to head to shore and therefore head towards the Lord.
h) John 21: 8. The other Disciples stayed in the boat and together with their heavy catch of fish pulled it to shore.
i) John 21:9. Jesus had already been cooking breakfast for them.
j) John 21:10. Jesus wanted to cook more fish from the catch.
k) John 21:11. There were 153 large fish in the net. This was Peter’s first act of Obedience in his life Restoration process, simply obeying the Lord and bringing the fish to Him. Are we willing to obey the Lord in small things?
l) John 21:12-14. Jesus served all the Disciples breakfast. They all knew His identity by then.
m) John 21:15-17. Jesus re-called Peter by:-
1- Questioning his love.
2- Hearing Peter’s response.
3- Commissioning him to feed and take care of His sheep and lambs.
(This QT challenges me, Peter Re-Called)
---------------------------------------
‘Getting Our Priorities Right.’
Acts 1:1-11.
a) Acts 1:1-2. It is right to read the Gospels and respond to what Jesus did and taught.
b) Acts 1:2. Special messengers of God need to be instructed and to learn to obey the Lord’s commands before they serve. Three and a half years is the minimum training period.
c) Acts 1:3. We need to have confidence in the Resurrected Christ.
d) Acts 1:4-5. Jesus taught them about and told them to stay in Jerusalem to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Here is an important priority.
e) Acts 1:6-7. The study of Biblical dates and times, and of modern day prophecies about Israel were and are insignificancies. Only the Father knows everything about the end times. Let us live ready for those end times.
f) Acts 1:8. What the Disciples really needed was to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that they could become witnesses.
g) Acts 1:9-11. The Disciples were gazing at the Ascension of Jesus Christ. But the Angels helped them to get their gaze off and to be ready rather for the Second Coming of Christ.
(This Second one helps me in Getting My Priorities Right)
---------------------------------------
Chris.
For every Christian worker, of whatever type the Training Period for their ministry is a very important time. Firstly, we should always be learning, not just during our Training Period, as we humbly walk with the Lord we should always be learning. Secondly, as we are going through arranged Training Periods in our lives, whether in Seminary, Church or some other training course, we need to go through those Training Periods with a teachable attitude.

A Reminder!
‘A Reminder.’
a) Romans 15:15; Deuteronomy 6:6; 11:18. We all need a reminder of God’s Truth.
b) Exodus 13:9. We all need a reminder to keep the Word of the Lord on our lips.

(This Second one teaches me the great privileges of Gentile Believers)
--------------------------------------
Chris.
Stay calm in the midst of difficult situations. This is God’s Will and Plan for all of His Children. He does not want us to lose our cool. All of us face challenges of one kind or another at different times in our lives. It is when we face these difficult situations that we can really prove God. So let us do what His Word says and stay calm.

On The Pathway!
‘On The Pathway.’
a) Proverbs 10:17. People who accept discipline are on the Pathway to Life.

------------
‘Peter’s Revelation.
Matthew 16:13-19.
a) Matthew 16:13. Jesus wanted His Disciples to tell Him who the people were saying that He is.
b) Matthew 16:14. They gave their answer to Jesus. Some people said that He was:-
1- John the Baptist.
2- Elijah.
3- Jeremiah.
4- One of the prophets.
c) Matthew 16:15. Then Jesus asked them, “But who do you say I am?”
d) Matthew 16:16. It was Simon Peter that answered that Jesus Christ was the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.
e) Matthew 16:17. Jesus replied to Simon Peter that:-
1- Simon Peter was Blessed.
2- The Father in Heaven had Revealed to Peter Who Jesus was.
3- He did not learn this from any human being.
f) Matthew 16:18. Jesus told Peter that he had the personality of a little rock and that Jesus was going to build on the big rock His Church and that the powers of hell could not conquer it.
g) Matthew 16:19. Jesus gave Peter Authority to Pray:-
1- Jesus was going to give Peter the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.
2- Whatever Peter forbade on Earth would be forbidden in Heaven.
3- Whatever Peter permitted on Earth would be permitted in Heaven.
(Through this Second one I understand Peter’s Revelation and the call that Jesus gave to him)
------------
Chris.
Jesus wanted the Disciples to tell Him what the people were saying about Him. This was not for His benefit. Jesus Christ is omniscient and He knew what all the people were saying and He still knows what all the people are saying today too. Through their answer they could think through really what they thought about Jesus and Who He really was. Surely this is a good way to present the Gospel today also.

--------------------
‘Disciples Need To Make Disciples.’
Matthew 28:16-20.
a) Matthew 28:16. The Disciples obeyed Jesus by going to the mountain that He told them to go to. Disciples are always obedient to Jesus.

c) Matthew 28:18. The Message that Jesus gave to the Disciples was that ALL authority on Earth and in Heaven was given to Him.

2- Make Disciples of all Nations.

f) Matthew 28:20. Jesus would be with His Disciples always, even to the very end of the age. Today Jesus is with His Disciples through the Holy Spirit.
(This Second one reminds me that Disciples Need To Make Disciples)
--------------------
Chris.
People are all Created individually by the Lord. He knows all people. The Lord knows our strengths and weaknesses. He understands our personal situations. When some of the Disciples doubted Jesus He did not scold them but rather He Commissioned them. The only thing that the Lord cannot stand or accept is sin. Until today it is sin that separates man from the Triune God. Only through Jesus Christ and coming to Him in the way which the Bible enjoins can deal with our sin.

Positively Convinced!
‘Positively Convinced.’
Apostle Paul was Positively Convinced of the Character of the Roman Church Believers.
Romans 15:14.
a) They were full of Goodness.
b) Filled with Knowledge.

u) 2 Timothy 1:4. Because of real Fellowship in the Gospel.
(Through this Second one I desire to be Filled With Joy)
-----------
Chris.
Sorrow and mourning are very real experiences and these experiences should not be denied if we have them. Denial of sorrow and mourning can lead to many emotional and relational problems. Yes, we need to express our sorrow and mourning and we can rejoice because it is going to pass away. Our Joy will be restored.
Wages!
‘Wages.’

e) Mark 10:15. I tell you the Truth, anyone who will not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it, was what Jesus exclaimed.
f) Mark 10:16. Jesus:-
1- Took the little children in His Arms.
2- Put His hands on them.
3- Blessed them.
(This Second one convinces me of the Truth that Jesus Loves The Little Children)
----------
Chris.
The Ways of God in the Nations are beyond our understanding. Sometimes our mind sets are too set and rigid. We believe what tradition says or what our culture says rather than what God’s Word says. We find this in the Old and New Testaments if we read them carefully. Let us Biblically investigate before we get stuck in beliefs that are not Biblical.

Mob Rule!
‘Mob Rule.’
Matthew 27:12-25.
a) Matthew 27:12. There can be no human answer against it.
b) Matthew 27:13. Is enhanced by a weak and fearful government.
c) Matthew 27:14. Should not be responded against in an active physical way – it only makes the situation worse.
d) Matthew 27:15. Sometimes hides behind traditionalism and cultural influences.
e) Matthew 27:16. Barabbas – a notorious criminal who was under sentence of capital punishment was going to be released to appease the people.
f) Matthew 27:17. Pilate really wanted to release Jesus because he knew that Jesus was innocent.
g) Matthew 27:18. Pilate knew that the Jewish leaders were envious of Jesus and the mob was now ruling. Led by the Elders and Priests.
h) Matthew 27:19. Pilate’s wife affirmed the innocence of Jesus by her dream. She told her husband not to do anything.
i) Matthew 27:20. The Elders and Jewish Priests were working so hard to create mob rule.
j) Matthew 27:21. Pilate again offered the choice: Barabbas or Jesus to be released. The crowd yelled for Barabbas.
k) Matthew 27:22. Pilate submitted to mob rule when he asked them what he should do with Jesus. The mob cried out for Jesus’ Crucifixion.

m) Matthew 27:24. Pilate public washed his hand of the whole thing. The Nation was out of control, being ruled by the mob.
n) Matthew 27:25. The mob even involved their children and said that they and their children (descendents) would be responsible for the death of Jesus.
(Through this QT I find how the wrong concept of democracy can bring Mob Rule. The right kind of democracy submits to the Government of God)
-----
‘Love Is Action.’

a) 1 John 4:7. This is written to the Beloved, Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

1- Love comes from God.
2- Anyone who loves comes from God.
3- Anyone who loves knows God.
c) 1 John 4:8. Anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
d) 1 John 4:9. God demonstrated His Love for and to us.
e) 1 John 4:10. This is real Love not that we loved God, but that he Loved us and sent his Son as a Sacrifice to take away our sins.
f) 1 John 4:11. Dear friends, since God Loved us that much, we surely ought to Love each other. This Love is only possible in the fellowship of the Beloved.
g) 1 John 4:12. If we love each other, God lives in us, and His Love is brought to full expression in us.
(This Second one teaches me that Love Is Action)
-----
Chris.
Love is Action. This is a very clear statement in line with the Word of God. We cannot say we love if we have no action. The first love relationship with have is to be with God; the second love relationship we have is to be with our family; the third love relationship we have is to be with the Beloved, the Family of God and then we can healthily love the non believers and invite them to share in God’s Kingdom through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

(By this Second one I learn from Jesus In The Temple)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
We can have great confidence in God the Source of Hope. It is not just in today’s World but also throughout the ages that despairing people say that they have lost Hope, or that there is no Hope. This is not a fact because God is a God of Hope and He is the source of Hope. We should not lose our Hope.

l) Psalm 86:16. David Prayed it because he needed Strength and Salvation.
(This Second one encourages me to pray to the Lord: Show Me Your Favour)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
David Prayed to the Lord to show him His Favour because David wanted to live in Freedom. Living in Freedom has differing meanings in today’s World. Firstly, it can mean living in Freedom from a politically oppressive environment. Secondly, it can mean living in Freedom from modern day slavery employment. Thirdly, it can be living in Freedom from an abusive marriage. Fourthly, it can be living in Freedom from some besetting sin or habit. Fifthly, it can mean living in Freedom from a morally wrong relationship. Surely God wants to show us His Favour and give Freedom to us.

d) Esther 6:4. The king asked who was on royal duty to serve the king by carrying out his instructions. Haman was there, he was about to ask the king for permission to hang Mordecai on the gallows which he had just prepared for that purpose.

5- Proclaim that this is what the king is doing for the man he wants to honour.
h) Esther 6:10-11. This is exactly what the king ordered for Mordecai and Haman was the royal official leading the horse.

--------------------------------------------------------------
‘She Could Not Keep Silent.’

b) Her people had been sold out to:-
1- Destruction.
2- Death.
3- Extermination.
c) They were not just sold into slavery.
d) She was urgently requesting the king’s intervention.
(This Second one shows me why She Could Not Keep Silent and stimulates my prayers for the Nations in which there is such injustice)
--------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
Queen Esther was an honest and brave woman. She was not a political manipulator, but she stood for what was entirely right in an uncompromising way and she was willing to risk her life for the sake of her people. May God raise up many people with the same heart and spirit as Queen Esther in this day and generation.

j) James 1:5. Wisdom if we ask it of God.
(Through this Second one I know that It Shall Be Given)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
The Nations shall submit to Jesus Christ. Even if our Nation is not yet submitting to Jesus Christ it is really something that we can and should be praying for. The Bible tells us that a Day is coming when every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Let us pray that the Nations in which we dwell and Worship God shall submit to Jesus Christ.

------------------------------------------
Chris.
A man was not allowed for a man to sell his daughter as a slave to a foreigner. In many countries this habit continues until today. It is a social evil that needs to be addressed and wiped out ….human trafficking. It can be for many uses, factories, prostitution, as slave wives and for other reasons too. Let us pray for and work for the eradication of human trafficking.

Chris.
Sometimes we are aware of people looking at us and it makes us feel uncomfortable. Often the people looking at us are people who we do not know well or at all. It is good not to focus our attention on those people or to be afraid of them, rather we should carefully look away from them and, if we so desire, move away from them if it is possible.

1- A captain of the Syrian army.
2- A great man before his master.

g) 2 Kings 5:7. The king of Israel:-
1- Misread the letter.
2- Became afraid.
3- Believed the wrong thing.
A big lesson is here for us. If we misread situations we can easily become afraid and then we believe the wrong thing.
h) 2 Kings 5:8. Elisha the Prophet of God heard about what had happened and asked for Naaman to be sent to him.
i) 2 Kings 5:9. Naaman came with pomp to Elisha’s door.
j) 2 Kings 5:10. Elisha merely sent a messenger to Naaman, this was not rude, it was practical, Elisha was protecting himself from leprosy. The message was:-
1- Go and wash in the Jordan seven times.
2- Your flesh will become normal.
3- You will be clean.
k) 2 Kings 5:11. Naaman was angry and proud. He thought that:-
1- Elisha would come out to meet him.
2- Elisha would stand and call on the Name of his God.
3- Elisha would strike his hand over the leprous place.
4- Elisha would cure him.
l) 2 Kings 5:12. Naaman used human reasoning that came from his pride and went away in a rage. Pride often causes anger.
m) 2 Kings 5:13. Naaman’s servants came to him and reasoned with him, trying to convince him to go into the Jordan as prescribed by Elisha.
n) 2 Kings 5:14. Naaman humbled himself and he was healed.
o) 2 Kings 5:15. Naaman returned to Elisha gratefully extolling God and tried to give lavish gifts to Elisha.
p) 2 Kings 5:16. Elisha refused the gifts. He was honestly fearing God. He did not want to compromise with the Syrians.
(This Second one gives me the understanding that Humility, Healing And Honesty are all linked)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
Sometimes God asks us to do things that we really do not want to do. We resist and have some contest in our heart with God. This is really wrong, there is no excuse for it. When God asks us to do something let us always be willing, no matter what it is. The result of our obedience will surely be good.

Chris.
Wisdom will be rewarded by God. It is good and Biblical to get Wisdom but we should not be proud about Wisdom. All good Wisdom comes from God. There is a worldly wisdom which we should reject because it is sin.

Four Faithful Men!
‘Four Faithful Men.’
Daniel 1:1-20.
a) Daniel 1:1. It was a difficult time for God’s People. In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
b) Daniel 1:2; Romans 8:28. This was the Lord’s doing. The Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into Nebuchadnezzar’s hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god.
c) Daniel 1:3. Nebuchadnezzar told Ashpenaz, his chief of staff, to gather together young men of potential.
d) Daniel 1:4. These young men:-
1- Had no blemish.
2- Were good looking.
3- Were gifted in all Wisdom.
4- Possessed knowledge.
5- Were quick to understand.
6- Had ability to serve. They were humble.
7- Had ability to learn a new language. They were teachable.
e) Daniel 1:5. The king provided abundantly for them for a three year training programme.
f) Daniel 1:6-7. Daniel and his three friends were sons of Judah.
1- Daniel means: God is my judge.
2- Hananiah means: God has favoured.
3- Mishael means: who is what God is.
4- Azariah means: Jehovah has helped.
Their names were changed by Ashpenaz. These names were intentionally given to deny the living God.
1- Daniel became Belteshazzar meaning: lord of the straitened people’s treasure.
2- Hananiah became Shadrach meaning: the great scribe.
3- Mishael became Meshach meaning the guest of a king.
4- Azariah became Abednego meaning servant of Nebo (a Babylonian god).
g) Daniel 1:8. Daniel asked Ashpenaz that he be not defiled with the feasts of the king’s delicacies and wine.
h) Daniel 1:9. Daniel found favour with Ashpenaz.
i) Daniel 1:10. Ashkenaz was afraid of king Nebuchadnezzar, if Daniel’s health deteriorated Ashkenaz would be in trouble.
j) Daniel 1:11-13. Daniel and his three friends asked for a 10 day test eating just vegetables and water. Then, after those ten days, their appearances could be checked. These men had active Faith.
k) Daniel 1:14. Ashkenaz agreed to the four men’s request.
l) Daniel 1:15-16. After the ten days, their health looked better than all the other young men so they had a permanent diet of vegetables and water.
m) Daniel 1:17. For the four young men God gave them Knowledge and skill in all literature and Wisdom.
n) Daniel 1:17. Especially for Daniel, God gave him understanding in visions and dreams.
o) Daniel 1:18. After the three year training programme the four men were brought before king Nebuchadnezzar.
p) Daniel 1:19. The king interviewed them and found them to be exceptional and he appointed them as personal servants. (This must have caused jealousy amongst Nebuchadnezzar’s own people)
q) Daniel 1:20. These four men had more Wisdom and Understanding than anyone else.
(Through this QT I am Blessed by the lives of Four Faithful Men)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘Rage.’
a) Daniel 3:13. Can cause unjust punishment.
b) 2 Kings 5:12. Can cause us to miss God’s healing in our lives.
c) 2 Kings 19:27; 2 Chronicles 28:9; Isaiah 37:28-29. God knows our rage.
d) 2 Kings 19:28. Can cause defeat and captivity.
e) Psalm 2:1; Acts 4:25. Can be a national problem.
f) Daniel 11:11. Can cause wars.
g) Luke 6:11. Is anti Christ.
(This Second one makes me realise how dangerous Rage is)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
Rage is a destroyer. Let us forsake rage and follow the right way for our lives. Rage destroys health, rage destroys marriages, rage destroys friendships and rage can make the person who has it very lonely. Get rid of rage in Jesus Name.
Be Considerate To Other Believers!
‘Be Considerate To Other Believers.’
Romans 15:1-7.
a) Romans 15:1. If our Faith is strong we should be sensitive towards those people whose Faith is weak.
b) Romans 15:1. We should not just please ourselves.
c) Romans 15:2. We should be trying to build our fellow Believers up.
d) Romans 15:3. Even Christ did not try to please Himself.
e) Romans 15:4. The Scriptures were written to teach and encourage us by giving us Hope.
f) Romans 15:5. God is the One Who makes us Patient and Cheerful.
g) Romans 15:5. As we follow Christ we need to be at Peace with each other.
h) Romans 15:6. We should be able to Praise God together in unity.
i) Romans 15:7. We should honour God by accepting each other just as Christ has accepted us.
(This QT exhorts me to Be Considerate To Other Believers)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
‘Winning Battles God’s Way.’
(The True Story of Gideon and his army defeating the Midianites)
Judges 7:1-25.
a) Judges 7:1. It was early in the morning that the battle preparations began. Whether in Church or at home, if we are to be victorious Believers it is good to have time with God in the early morning.
b) Judges 7:2. The battle could not be won with the mere might of human numbers. God told Gideon that his army had to be reduced in size.
c) Judges 7:3. God said that all the people who were fearful had to leave the army and go home. More than half the people left.
d) Judges 7:4-7. God made Gideon’s army drink water and only those who drank water in a certain way were to be included in Gideon’s army. It meant his army was reduced to 300 men.
e) Judges 7:7. God Promised Gideon that He was going to help this army to defeat the Midianites.
f) Judges 7:8. Gideon’s army had:-
1- An abundance of food.
2- An abundance of trumpets.
3- An advantageous position – they were on the top of a hill.
g) Judges 7:9. That night God gave instructions to Gideon to get up and attack. He was going to give the Midianites into Gideon’s hands.
h) Judges 7:10. God knew that Gideon was still somewhat afraid. God told Gideon to take his servant Purah down to the Midianite camp secretly.
i) Judges 7:11. Gideon and Purah were told by God to listen to what the Midianites were saying then they would have confidence about defeating them in battle. Sometimes we miss out on the Lord’s Plans simply because we do not listen carefully to what other people are saying.
j) Judges 7:12. It was a huge camp that not only contained the Midianite army but also the armies of many eastern Nations.
k) Judges 7:13-14. Gideon overheard the conversation between two soldiers in the camp one soldier had a dream and the second interpreted it. The interpretation was about Gideon and his army defeating the Midianite army and all the other armies that were in the camp. The world system and other religions also have spiritual manifestations that are similar to Biblical ones. We need to test these manifestations by their fruit, fulfilment, adherence to Scripture and the personal holiness and righteous lives of the purveyors of such manifestations. Especially from North America at this time there is an abundance of satanic mimicry using the Name of Jesus Christ.
l) Judges 7:15. As a result of the listening Gideon and Purah Praised God for they knew it was time to defeat the Midianites.
m) Judges 7:16. Gideon prepared his army for battle with:-
1- Trumpets.
2- Large clay jars.
3- Flame torches.
n) Judges 7:17. The army had to keep their eyes on Gideon and as they got close to the camp they were to do as Gideon did.
o) Judges 7:18. They were to blow their trumpets and shout: “Fight for the Lord and fight for Gideon.”
p) Judges 7:19-20. Gideon and his army came close to the Midianite camp just after dusk. They all:-
1- Blew their trumpets.
2- Smashed the clay jars holding the torches. (It was not a waste)
3- Shouted fight with your swords for the Lord and for Gideon. They added the word “sword”, our sword is the Word of God.
q) Judges 7:21. The Midianites were thrown into confusion and the army of Gideon simply stood and held their ground.
r) Judges 7:22. Gideon’s army blew their trumpets again and the Midianites with their associated armies were thrown into confusion.
s) Judges 7:23-25. Gideon called for some help then and the Midianites were totally defeated. Notice the names of two of the enemy leaders, Raven and Wolf, very significant.
(This Second one encourages me to be Winning Battles God’s Way)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
There are times when God wants us to actively obey Him and to obey the people God has given to us as our spiritual leaders. The army of Gideon were to blow their trumpets and shout their message. They could not win by just agreeing with what Gideon said. They had to participate.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
Wisdom is very valuable and precious. We should treat Wisdom well and take time to ponder on the Wisdom that the Lord gives to us. Both the Old and New Testaments encourage us to seek for Wisdom.

(Through this Second one I learn some Principles Of God’s Covenants)
------------------------------------------------
Chris.
The Christian Church is really being shaken in these days by the Lord because He wants His Church to be Pure and Holy. The Message of the Gospel is a Message of New Life in Jesus Christ. We need to enter into this New Life properly through a discipleship programme so that we can have some kind of clear idea of what it means to be a True Believer in Jesus Christ.

a) Romans 14:19. Let us aim for harmony in the Church and try to build each other up.

(This QT teaches me one of the ways to Practical Harmony In The Church)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chris.
When we are called to repent or our heart is moved to repent, this is not a light thing. Firstly, repentance is a turning away from sin in a specific way to God. Secondly, repentance must include some kind of confession of sin specifically. Thirdly, repentance should bring forth fruit, the fruit of repentance.

(Through this Second one I am Blessed and I hope influenced by the life of Obedient Noah)
----------------------------------------------------
Chris.
God planned way back in Noah’s day to destroy the population of the Earth because it had become so corrupt. The Bible tells us of a coming day when God will do something similar but by fire. In Isaiah chapter 43 God tells His People that He will be with them in times of flood and fire. Surely He was with Noah and at the time of God’s Judgment on the Earth by fire God’s obedient people will not be burned. We have Eternal Life and a place in Eternity.
