Choose To Remember The Good!

‘Choose To Remember The Good.’
Esther 6:1-11.
a) Esther 6:1. A sleepless night and the king wanted to listen to the history of the Nation. All history is a mixture of bad and good.
b) Esther 6:2. It was written how Mordecai, the queen’s father, had been so loyal to the king by informing on those who had planned to destroy him.
c) Esther 6:3. The king enquired what good honour had been given to Mordecai for his faithful actions. The kings servants replied that nothing had been done.
d) Esther 6:4. The king asked who was on royal duty to serve the king by carrying out his instructions. Haman was there, he was about to ask the king for permission to hang Mordecai on the gallows which he had just prepared for that purpose.
e) Esther 6:5. The king had Haman ushered into his presence.
f) Esther 6:6. Haman entered and the king asked Haman what should be done for the person whom the king wanted to honour. Haman thought this referred to himself.
g) Esther 6:7-9. Haman gave his advice on what should be done for the person whom the king was to honour:-
1- Give the man a royal garment that the king himself has worn previously.
2- Give the man a horse on which the king had formerly ridden.
3- Put a royal diadem on the horse’s head.
4- Put one of the kings most noble officials in charge of leading the horse.
5- Proclaim that this is what the king is doing for the man he wants to honour.
h) Esther 6:10-11. This is exactly what the king ordered for Mordecai and Haman was the royal official leading the horse.
(This QT reminds me that good and just things can happen when we Choose To Remember The Good)

‘She Could Not Keep Silent.’
Esther 7:4.
a) Esther made the request of the king.
b) Her people had been sold out to:-
1- Destruction.
2- Death.
3- Extermination.
c) They were not just sold into slavery.
d) She was urgently requesting the king’s intervention.
(This Second one shows me why She Could Not Keep Silent and stimulates my prayers for the Nations in which there is such injustice)

Chris.
Queen Esther was an honest and brave woman. She was not a political manipulator, but she stood for what was entirely right in an uncompromising way and she was willing to risk her life for the sake of her people. May God raise up many people with the same heart and spirit as Queen Esther in this day and generation.
