Contentious People!

‘Contentious People.’
a) Proverbs 21:19 & 9; 25:5. Contentious women are difficult to live with.
b) Proverbs 26:21. Contentious men kindle strife.
c) 1 Corinthians 11:16. Contentious people in the Church need to be given space and Grace.
(This QT give me understanding about Contentious People)

‘We Need To Reject What Is Not True.’
2 Corinthians 11:1-4.
a) 2 Corinthians 11:1. Apostle Paul wanted to share something with the intellectual Corinthians that may seem like foolishness to them but was actually very important.
b) 2 Corinthians 11:2. Apostle Paul had a deep and real love for the Corinthian Church:-
1- He was jealous for them with a godly jealousy.
2- He promised them in marriage to one husband Who is Christ.
3- He wanted to present them as a pure virgin to Christ.
c) 2 Corinthians 11:3. Apostle Paul was fearful about the Corinthian Church being deceived:-
1- Just like the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness.
2- That their minds might be led away from sincerity to Christ.
3- That they might be led away from the purity of devotion to Christ.
d) 2 Corinthians 11:4. Here was the weakness of the Corinthian Church:-
1- If someone comes and proclaims another Jesus, different to the Truth about the real Jesus, they put up with it well enough.
2- If they receive a different spirit – not the Holy Spirit – they put up with it well enough.
3- If they receive a different gospel to the Gospel which they have received they put up with it well enough.
(Through this Second I realise clearly that I Need To Reject What Is Not True)

Chris.
We need to reject what is not true and Truth and not to compromise with the things that are not true. Today, just as in the early days of the Corinthians Church there are so many errors and heresies being brought into the Church by vague and vagrant preachers and teachers. We need to resist these and to stand fast in the Truth of God’s Word.
