Holy Zeal!

‘Holy Zeal.’
Galatians 4:18
a) To be zealous is good, provided that the cause is good.
b) It is good to have an interest in a good cause at all times.
c) If we are eager to do good things for other people, that is alright.
d) We should be consistent with it.
e) It should not have to be motivated in us by other people.
(This QT reminds me about Holy Zeal – a pure expression of Faith)

‘Guidelines For The Early Church.’
Acts 15:28-31.
a) Acts 15:28. This was the leading of the Holy Spirit.
b) Acts 15:28-29. These were the necessary instructions:-
1- Keep away from things offered to false gods.
2- Keep away from blood – shedding it and eating it.
3- Keep away from eating things that are strangled.
4- Keep away from fornication.
c) Acts 15:29. It is correct to do these things.
d) Acts 15:30. The Messengers went down to Antioch, gathered the True Believers together and read the guidelines letter.
e) Acts 15:31. After this letter was read all the True Believers were:-
1- Delighted.
2- Encouraged.
3- Glad.
4- Comforted.
(Through this Second one I find the simple Guidelines For The Early Church. I long to see such simplicity restored to the Church)

Chris.
If we have Holy Zeal we need to be consistent in and with it. Sometimes I meet “flash in the pan” Christians. Their zeal is definitely not Holy and it depends on their mood. These people are either immature or they are just trying to create a good impression of themselves. If we have Holy Zeal it is a long term thing and is a Blessing to other True Believers as a good example.
