‘First And Great And.’
Matthew 22:38-40.
a) Matthew 22:38. This is
the First and Great Commandment. That we Love the Lord our God.
b) Matthew 22:39. The Second
Commandment is similar.
c) Matthew 22:39. We should
love our neighbour as we do ourselves.
d) Matthew 22:40. The entire
Law and the Prophets depends on these two Commandments.

‘To Know Him.’
Philippians
3:8-11.
a) Philippians 3:8.
Everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing
Jesus Christ as our Lord.
b) Philippians 3:8. For
Christ’s sake we can discard all other priorities.
c) Philippians 3:9. We can
become one with Christ.
d) Philippians 3:9. We do
not count on self righteousness by obeying the Law.
e) Philippians 3:9. We
become Righteous through Faith in Christ.
f) Philippians 3:9. God’s
way of making us right with Himself depends on self.
g) Philippians 3:10. We
desire to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the
dead.
h) Philippians 3:10. If we
know Him we can also suffer with Him, sharing in His Death.
i) Philippians 3:11. We can
experience resurrection from the dead if we know Christ.

The Commandments of God are so important
for us. These Commandments teach us to love God and to love others, that is
still important spiritually and socially until today. Knowing Christ, however,
is far more important our whole life changes if we know Christ. We can live in
Faith with a clean conscience and also experience overcoming New Life which is
Eternal.
